new install, why ssd so slow? maybe sata2?

I finally made the switch and I bought the Seagate 600. It has the Seagate software, but I'm running into an issue...

My current configuration is a 1TB drive with a 120gig boot partition... when I run the clone drive, I can only clone the entire 1TB drive, it will not allow me to just clone the 120gig partition on the drive.

Right now I made a backup and I'm restoring that backup to the new seagate.... will this work? Does anyone have a better idea or am I missing something completely...

yeah. it's good. I get a score around 350-380 on my intel g2.

My Seagate 600 ST240 GB gets 520/470 read writes with a Intel SATA3.

Yea, it was late at night and I never had a chance to look at what I should be getting and jumped to conclusions. Guess it isn't that bad.

Definately feels zippier than before!

What motherboard are you using? AS-SSD lists your SATA driver as MSAHCI. If you are running an Intel board, you might get a bit better performance using their driver (Iastor, I think). SATA2 will still be the limiting factor for sustained sequential transfers, but all scores might improve slightly. Realworld, you probably won't notice a difference though.
