The two RAM clips on the end of the RAM sticks should have "locked" inwards into the notches on the RAM if the RAM has been pushed in fully into place. Just be sure you did not install them in backwards before shoving them in to see if they are fully inserted.Ummm my 7950 is sitting on one of my sata cables...lol
Getting errors D7,15,40f, and A2.
Yes took me an hour to put them in now powers on with error.
WE HAVE POWER! but I don't think my cpu fan is kicking on, I've had it on for about 10 minutes and it's not spinning.
You have your parts, you have another "I have failed" thread on the problem...I am too the point now where I would just like to give up because I am at a complete loss. Would plugging my ram in wrong make my board not work?
Should I restart and put all the stand offs in? I didn't do this with my 1st build...
If you powered up the board with components in a grounded situation you probably damaged the mb.
Aim of the game is to get anything on your monitor. Then you start plugging stuff in again slowly (whilst powered off ofc).
Erm, do you have any stand offs fitted? You know they are not optional right?
What do you mean you don't _think_ the CPU fan is kicking on? It's either spinning or it isn't
OP, if you are doing any of this with the mobo in the case, you're doing it wrong.
Pull the mobo out, put it on the cardboard box it came in, connect the psu, cpu fan, and go from there with your mobo error code list handy, adding things one at a time. (You start it by taking a flathead screwdriver and briefly shorting the power pins (where the case power switch plugs in)).
Is it really possible to mount a motherboard without standoffs? I don't see how it would line up with the I/O shield without them.
