Obviously their budget line is the Sempron line, which is not 64 bit, and I don't think they've announced when it will be.
Hence the comment.
Whether or not their processor costs are cheaper than Intel doesn't really effec whether their budget line is 64-bit or not. The 2.26 GHz Celeron D (crap, I know) is only $72, and if they make it 64-bit, that would be budget to me.
Budget as in cheap (Sempron) like, not AMD 64, as I'm sure you well understood.
This also relates to the release of a budget line of processors maybe on socket 939.
