Also anyone have any pic of what the retail 3.5" adapter from intel looks like? It's basically this flat piece of metal with sides that go up. Four holes on the base to screw the SSD into
Like this?

Managed to snag the last available generation 2 160GB retail Intel drive at www.shopblt.com. Got my shipping confirmation, now the drives are unavailable at that site.
Can't wait to try it out...

AS SSD is better, has a 64 thread test that makes the x25 shine with ahci on.

A lot of them have them in stock now huh. Is this worth buying for my old s939 and I plan on upgrading within the next year or 2.

Seriously WTF is wrong with Intel? I mean these were shipping a month ago and they discovered that issue and we have been delayed for more than a whole month. When are these guys going to actually launch this product? With a delay this long I suspect some other issue like they want to wait for their costs to go down. As it stands I think the G2 launch was a **** tease.

Just because newegg still has their prices high doesn't mean the product isn't out... If you read the thread you can find places where you can periodically find them in stock for good prices ($250 for 80gb). I suspect by the end of next week that they will be in stock at multiple places for a decent price.

Definitely slower writes than when new, but still decent numbers.
