OK guys, some facts of life:
Big deal or not, Intel, OCZ, Corsair and anybody else using the Samsung controllers in their top of the line SSD's had lost a lot in money and reputacion for lack of propper firmware in their push to rip the benefits for been the first to sell their overpriced products. And is not fun or aceptable to loose 120GB of files in a instant, just for changing a password, because yes, big companies use them to protec their computers.
Many people made the mistake of going along with these companies practices and paid a lot of money for products that for all practical purpouses, were not ready to be sold.
Code writting, like almost everything else we consume here, is produced overseas (i.e. India and Pakistan) hence, the JOKE about the Taliban. JOKE, Got it?
Yes, I know SSD's are superior to regular HD, I just hope those that paid so much for them, had a good reason to do it now and not later when they will have a reasonable price.
Most people also ignore the fact that for a SSD to show its full potencial, it needs to be paired with other top of the line components, otherwise you are driving a Ferrari in a traffic jam.
Myself, I am building a computer based on a top of the line ATX Asus MB, 6GB of triple channel Corsair memory, a 4890 video car and a Intel i7 cpu OC to 3.7 GHZ. (Just to make sure it will be good for several years)
Even with all this, at this time I refuse to pay $450 for a 120GB drive (and don't think that will take you too far after you beguin to use Windos 7 64) when, for a few months, a $65 640GB dependable unit will handle anything I trow at it.
We live in a free country and every one has the rigth to express an opinion if one thinks it makes sense, without been call a troll.
And I didn't know about AMD, but somehow, it doesn't surprise me, here for the rigth price, we will sale anything.
I'll be back in 10 days, after my vacacion in the Bahamas that I paid with the $385 I save on my hard drive. See ya guys.
