FYI, I just got a price quote from dell on the 30 GB and this is the current product code.

the final price quoted is 459.00 + 37.87 tax + free shipping = 496.87

I am assuming this is the regular price minus the 15% for software/peripherals.

I am going to wait because I am greedy and want a better deal. My boss has a nephew that works at an APPLE store, and she is going to find out what Id pay using his discount. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I bought a powerbook not too long ago, and signed up for the apple store's mailings, and they send me this $25 off coupon every 2 months or so. I don't think you need to buy a powerbook....just sign up for an account, and you should get it in the mail.

paid $428.xx for my 30gig last week. if you want the 30gig, order from dell home when they have 10% off accessories and new 30 off 350 or 40 off 400 coupon codes. plus dell home doesnt charge tax and shipping is usually free.

update: credit goes to ultravista from FW. if you brought the 30gig ipod last week from dell @ the $526 price before discount. you can call their Credit & Returns department to request an adjustment to their new $499 price. saving you another $27.

I know that people who work at Apple stores get 25% off a system once per year, and 15% off for family/friends four times per year. I'm not sure about accessories tho...

sorry for my ignorance, but i've never bought anything at dell before ... but im dying for an ipod! i was so tempted to buy it from apple.com using the education discount... is there currently any coupons or discounts for the ipod @ dell? my impression from the recent posts is that there are none currently? where is everyone getting the coupons from?

Spoof: Call in and order from dell home and then ask them to take the 10% S&P discount which is offered.

While the dell education is $20 cheaper, they do charge tax in all states.

As for Dell home, they do not charge tax, and shipping is free. I purchased a 15gb one from dell home and it ended up being $359 shipped. Not as great as I'm sure they will sell it for w/ coupons in the future, but oh well

Tthis morning after realizing I dont need a 30 GB, I thought to get a 20 GB, and found out at least through my small business rep that the 20's are no longer available.
He did send me a new quote for the 15 GB with the software/peripheral 15% discount + the small business 10% discount and free shipping.

Dell Home Software & Peripherals currently have 10% off most accessories. there is a $33 of $350 coupon for today only. requesting and posting coupon codes is not allowed here. do a search on google for the code. good luck

Here's the deal I got - Kind of Long...

1st saw the posts about Apple and Target splitting up. Went to Target and bought a 10gb unit for $278, less a 10% discount for getting a Target credit card. Guy at Target says if I return I will pay a 15% restocking fee. Therefore my cost was $250. The unit was a MAC version and I needed a Windows version. I went to the local Apple store and they upgraded me to a 20gb unit for $100. They give me a receipt showing my value to be $399 for the 10gb on trade, plus $100 for upgrade to 20gb. Therefore my receipt shows a value of $499, and I had only paid a total of $350. Not bad, but it gets better.

The next day I decide to buy my two graduating kids an iPOD. I go to another Target and find 2 MAC units for $278. I buy them but forbid them to open until they take to the Apple store and swap out. They go, but Apple will not swap them. I call the Apple store and Apple says a) since they were not bought at Apple they would not swap (although they did before), b) a new iPOD is coming out on in 5 days and they can't take an old unit in, (even if new) and swap for a new iPOD. Therefore, I take the 2 MAC iPOD's to another Target store, and customer service rep. gives me full credit back.

I wait for the day that the new iPODs come out and go to the store. I buy 2, ea. 10gb iPOD's for $299 less $30 educator discount (wife teaches) and get new iPODs for the kids for less than the old iPOD was costing me.

Since my original iPOD that had been upgraded to 20gb was only 9 days old. Apple took it back (less $50 stocking fee) and gave me $450. I then bought a new 30gb iPOD for $499, less $50 educator discount. Consequently I walked in with a used 20gb iPOD that cost me $350 and walked out with a new 30gb iPOD.

And I got 3 free T-Shirts.

Somebody tell me if they got a better deal than this.

Spoofboy7 - FYI, dell has their 10% off accessories quite often. as for the dell Home $35 off $350 or $40 off $400 codes, they run new ones every week or so. if you are unable to get in on this deal today. dont sweat it, it'll be back next week. check out other forum sites

Im on DELLs small business email list by being our work accounts contact. I would imagine its easy to get added to the list.
I need to get myself added to all the lists it seems. =)

EDIT: The discount is a 10% stackable on anything valid until 5/16. I added that to the existing 15% off software/peripherals discount DELL has going, along with free shipping. However, just like the masses, Im waiting to find out If i am in on the first shipment they get, supposedly the 28th.

Although, this is still a better deal than just the 15% apple discount i was holding out for Im pretty happy.

Has anyone actually gotten Dell Small Business to take 15% off on the 30GB Ipod? When I called I was told the current promo is for Up To 15% off and the max for the 30GB Ipod is 8%.

If you were able to get them to give the 15% off + the 10% stackable please provide agent name plus extension.

FYI: the 15gig and 30gig ipods are officially on the dell website. priced at $399 and $499. there's currently a 10% off promotion. or you can wait til they have their $35/$350 or $40/$400 coupon codes.

update: 30gig ipod for $499 - 10% off accessories - $45 off $400 coupon (do a google search) = $404.10 shipped. or you get the 15gig for $314, you will need to add something small to make total over $400. enjoy

Dell finally put the new IPODS on their website. $499 for the 30 GIG and $399 for the 15GIG.

I called in to try get the price adjusted from $526 to $499 that I bought two weeks ago....they couldn't give it to me. They said that they only adjust price if it was a computer system made by Dell, and since Ipod is not their product they wouldn't adjust the price for me. After several tries, finally the one of the lady told me that she'll give me anything that's worth $50 on the website rather than giving me the money.....oh well..better than nothing because if I ordered another one at $404, I had to return the Ipod that I waited 2 weeks for and get charged for shipping and restock fee....AND WAIT FOR ANOTHER WEEK OR TWO.

UPDATE: I was going to use the $50 credit to buy an item on their site and called the Customer service. I spoke to a different lady and she just gave me $50 back to my credit card yeah!
