Used the emergency key inside the fob, which set the alarm off. Loudly blared for 15 minutes, which is an eternity when you're sitting in it. Tried calling Jeep Support from Uconnect, but the system simply put me on hold the entire time. Couldn't do anything about the horn the whole time...it's a push-button start. No override or bypass or anything.

I know things are different when you're in the moment, but couldn't you just pull the horn fuse to solve that?

What did you trade it in for?

Leave it to kaido to leave us hanging Glad you finally said f-it and took the financial hit. Enjoy!

I replaced it with a 2018 6MT Ecoboost Mustang. VERY happy with it so far. Fingers crossed that it has no issues, haha!

You know, I think I read that wrong. Ignore this, but Kaido did say he traded it in for a Mustang Ecoboost with the manual.

That would be correct! The 2018 is offered in a 10-speed automatic & a 6-speed manual (6MT), Ecoboost (4-cylinder turbo) or GT (V8). I got the manual Ecoboost & I couldn't be happier

Nah, I waited until it hit the crossover line between amount owed on my loan vs. market value. Dealer also gave me a bit more than expected for it. Got a good deal on the Ford, got a good deal on the trade-in, got a good deal on financing - all better than expected. They made it very hard to say no, lol. Also, (1) waited until the end of the month, and (2) 2019's are shipping in 3 weeks, so they're trying to clear the old inventory.

Yeah, I was flustered. Usually when I have problems with it (like electrical issues related to any of the electronics), I just pull the battery for 20 minutes. I had just gotten off a long return flight, hit up work site, and then it went bananas again, and I had had enough of it lol.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on your new ride in the coming weeks.

Will do! I'm trying to figure out how to get some good photos of it. It's proving surprisingly difficult to photograph.

Why does it run and hide in the bushes or something?

It has a tinted clearcoat on it. Photos online just look kind of purpley or burgandy. It kind of goes chocolate-colored in the evening, flat purple in the shade, and bright sparkingly metallic dark red in direct sunlight. It's very hard to capture how the color actually looks with a camera! I didn't really like the color at all in photos online, but in person, it looks really great!

It sounds like the only way you will be satisfied with the color is to do a timelapse from dawn to dusk to catch it at all the light levels.

Hah, that's actually a great idea!

Ahhh yeah I know what you mean. My mustang is ruby red as well. If it isn't in direct sunlight it looks darker colored.

Mine is "Royal Crimson Metallic Tinted Clearcoat", which is a bit darker. What's the year & specs on your ride?

That’s a Trailhawk pulling a Sport, and as far as I know, the Trailhawk is the only Renegade with an actual tow hook.

Also the guy in the Sport was holding his brakes.

What is that attachment point on the car being pulled anyway? I assumed it was a real tow hook.

Dunno. I know our Subarus have a tow hook that screws into the structure behind the bumper cover. I don't know if I'd try yanking a car really hard with it but that is the point of a tow hook, right?

I don't really know, I thought I was bein snarky.
My subaru has "recovery points" but they aren't on the bumper, you need to get under the car and there's one in front and I believe one in the back (2nd gen)

hooks right on the bumper are likely to be tie down points.
