New Keyboard (Corsair K90)

So i'm planning on buying a new keyboard soon.
I'm gonna use it mostly for gaming, my budget is around €110 ~ $140.
But for that price i'd like a mechanical keyboard so no logitech (crap) please.

I thought about the K90, it gets good reviews almost everywhere.
Any other keyboards i should be looking at?

Also, does anyone know where i can buy the azerty version of this keyboard (I'm from Belgium), I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Here is some good information on mechanical keyboards, if you are not already familiar with it.

I use to game with a SteelSeries 6Gv2 ; Black switch Mechanical keyboard. I found it tiring after an hour of play. I double-tap alot with UT3. I then bought a k/b with Red switches. It much better suits what I need. It's the Corsair K60

Go with the K60. The Cherry MX Reds are real nice for gaming.

Me myself like the MX Blues. I love the loud clicks it makes. Satisfying for some strange reason.

I have a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate that uses MX Blues and I like it. I think the Stealth version uses Browns but I cant give any opinion to that one.

I've got four different mech keyboards at the moment.

Mionix Zibal 60 (cherry black)
Monoprice LED (cherry red)
CM Quickfire Pro (cherry brown)
Razer Black Widow Ultimate (cherry blue)

The thing I've learned is that I prefer the Cherry Blacks for the most part. Cherry Reds are a close second. I guess I just don't like the bump or the click. Needless to say, I'll probably be returning/selling the two boards I don't like very much. The Monoprice board is really hard to find now as it's a rebranded keyboard (not sure who's the OEM). It looks like it's on backorder until august so if anyone is interested in a nice led cherry red board, just let me know. I just prefer the blacks. Linear ftw.

I also just ordered a Ducky Cherry Black...to use at work, so we'll see how that goes on Friday when it arrives.

Stick with the K90.

Backlight is very important for me.

I've been using the K90 for about 5 or 6 months. It's nice but I miss the LCD on the G510...wish I could have the best of both worlds.

I got the k60 and suffering from the dreaded fading of the keys. I have a ticket with Corsair, but their supposedly 24 hour return time hasn't replied to me yet. Note: I have heard only good things about their tech.

The k60 is amazingly good key feel, travel etc. I love it. Just wish the key letters didn't erase.

:thumbsup: Good news. If the wear issue has been rectified the K60 will go back on my buy list.

I just got my replacement K60. I sent it off a few days late due to laziness and weekend, and then they got it to me a bit later due to not having one in stock I guess.

Will throw a new thread up later and report if the key fade is fixed. Off hand though, the keys appear to have a slightly rougher texture than originally.

Evious, Try keyboardco.com, they are UK based and the only place I can think of that may have your layout in a mechanical.

Just curious but are these mechanical kbs loud? I mean, as opposed to normal dome(?) Kbs? I've got an old saitek that I'm looking into replacing, but my rig is behind the couch in the TV room so any loud clicking etc may be too annoying.

You'll get bored of it soon enough. And the you'll want to change the key caps, then realize, oh wait, you can't because they're backlit. :\

Yes they're actually extremely loud in comparison to traditional keyboards if you Don't have the dampening mod.

the mod, is where you put soft rubber o-rings on the key cap stem, to dampen the keycap from hitting the bottom.:thumbsup:
