The profile makes all too clear that the 7-Series disease is spreading

Actually, I see a lot of Mazda Millenia in its lines as well... particularly in the rear shot.

The gap b/w a BMW, MB and Lexus is non-existant in my eyes. Matter of fact, I'd say that Lexus may have the upper hand on the two, in terms of reliability, and amenities. Performance wise, ehh, BMW and MB may have the edge with there racing background, but I'm sure we will be seeing the TRD lineage come into play sometime or another into a Lexus sports car (next supra?).

It definitely follows the LF-S concept that lexus introduced 2 years ago or so as the design philosophy that they are going to follow with this generation of cars.

engine wise it's going to have a 4.6L V8 (LS460) or a 5.0L V8 w/ a hybrid system on a stretched platform (LS600)

Definitely nice!!!!!

I still think Chris Bangle might've beat 'em to it, but the BMW/Lexus lines are definitely crossing!

Ifiniti still has their own line for the time being...........IMO.

But I love Bangle's work so far anyway........(& it's getting better).

Now I just need a whooooole lotta' money to afford any of 'em.............LOL!!!

It was a while ago, but a disguised car was spotted (leaving with a Supra TT) on the Nuhrenberg (spelling?) that looked a lot like the mid engine Lexus sports concept that was on tour last auto show circuit (estimated at 500hp).

You would have been more acurate here for the side profile/greenhouse:

I thought it was a BMW from the rear. Lexus should feel secure enough to come up with something more original, I mean Lexus sells more luxury cars in the US more than anybody. Instead, it continues to blend designs of other companies.

i don't know what you're trying to show by posting pictures of a car that looks like a flounder.

the gs is far more maxima than 5 series. look at the C pillars and how short the trunk looks.

maybe, but the way lexus has big brother looking over your shoulder all day you'd probably never know it by driving it.

I'm talking about the roofline and kink in the rear quarter windows. The kink is similar on the IS/LS/ES. The kink on the GS and E60 are similar. Hence the pictures I provided.

To better point it out for you so that you can digest it:
