Finished the Homeland series. It was a never ending train wreck. Somehow, the Mrs. and I became addicted to watching it. I don’t even know how to rate it. I will never watch a series like that again, should something like it come out.

The Color of Pomegranates, 1969

It's, um, different. If you're in the mood for avant garde, circa 1969, this is a good one. I would recommend not dropping acid prior to watching. 3/10 if you're not in the right mood; 9/10 if you are.

a bit late to remember remember the 5th of november, i watched V For Vendetta - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434409/reference/

the film that made me believe Natalie Portman didn't suck balls as an actress. It's impressive the number of 6.2/10's she collected after starting her career in Leon, but here she is adequate for her role. I'm not sure how more fleshed out you can make the character here since it's a comic book and, you know, maybe things like the dialogue after Evey is released from the gaslighting TORTURE of V isn't exactly how a human would react.
The star of the show is the superbly evil John Hurt as the Supreme Chancellor Sutler, and everyone else involved is good, but i found the photography to shift too much throughout the film; i am confused if the subdued grays are meant to mean anything, or if the photographer was just drunk very often.
Hugo Waving as V is also excellent, but V's particular manner of speaking suits the written format better - as you have time to fully read, at your own pace, his poetry - rather than film. Because sometimes it's just hard to understand wtf he is saying.

7.8/10 - last decent film of the Wachovski "things", shadow-directing for actual-director James McTeigue, who has since done nothing decent.

What about Speed Racer, Jupiter Ascending, Cloud Atlas and Sense8 (ok, not a movie, I know)?
I heard Speed Racer was good (in a weird way), but did not have a chance to see it.
Cloud Atlas is shit.
Jupiter Ascending .. i can't believe you are even asking me this. Have you watched it?
JA is an atrociously bad film. I have to say that i liked the bad guy, but everything else in that film is just so.bad.
Mila Kunis only manages to get roles because every american wanted to fuck her since she was a child, but she can barely qualify as passable voice acting for Meg Griffin, and should NOT be cast in any speaking role.
The whole script is a vomit of CGI.
The plot is ludicrous, and despite the utter destruction needs to end with a fucking fairytale princess (who is literally seen scrubbing toilets in the beginning).
this guy explained better than i care to

Wow. You are so harsh. Both were not THAT bad (yes, the Cloud Atlas evolution of the English language was a headache to listen to but other than that, I thought it was terrifying and futuristic. A point of view on how humanity may end up if the current trajectory of "progress" continues).

Mila is soooooo cute! How can you dislike her? Don't you like her big eyes? Don't you like her calling the protagonist a dog??? Isn't their love story cute as heck???

Look, while i dont personally find Mila attractive, i'm ok if you want to bone her. But good to bone =/= good to act.

who is Mila? That's Halle Berry.
Mila is in Jupiter Ascending. She is the .. erm .. protagonist.

I dont mind Halle Berry but Cloud Atlas was panned pretty much by everyone who isn't a shill; and they all had in common to their review the absolutely straightfaced joke of "Tru Tru", as per the video.

Well we finally wrapped up Suits on Netflix and the final season on Peacock. IDK why it's like this, but at least on Peacock it was free with a few ads vs. Prime that wanted us to buy/rent the last season.

Seasons 1-3 7/10 - The show was entertaining even if the premise was stupid. It was witty and I liked how they took care of smaller cases but still had over-arching cases that went through the season.

The rest of the show: 3/10. For a bunch of supposedly brilliant, Harvard Grad attorneys, they sure make some really dumb decisions, and it got old pretty fast. Season 7 was ok i guess, but we finished it not necessarily for the entertainment, but just to finish what we started.

By far IMO the best character was actually Lewis Litt (Rick Hoffman). He's just as bad as the other characters in making stupid decisions, but I enjoyed watching him.

I have been going through Justin Wilson's Louisiana Cooking series, that I used to watch when I was a young punk. I knew almost nothing about Cajun or Creole cuisine before watching his show. I hadn't been to Naw-lins' yet either. Many of his dishes have been a part of my rotation for decades now. 10/10 for the cooking and the stories. My girl and I loved this man.

This guy is the Bob Ross of cooking !!
That's a great comparison. They both had the best catch phrases that they used while teaching you. He was seriously the best long before there were cooking channels. I think he was on PBS, which is publicly funded. We'd record his show on VHS so we could take notes, make a shopping list, and try the recipes.

I watched that Justin Wilson video and it was just a pleasure for the soul.

I also watched FAQ About Time Travel - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0910554/reference/

starring that guy from The IT Crowd. Fairly amusing and well executed british comedy (and i dont mean Monty Python, i mean *modern* british comedy) about a trio of morons who happen to be caught in a weird time-travel loop while in a pub. While shot on different sets, the "setting" is only one for the entire film, the pub. The plot advances fairly slowly at first, and increases in complexity as it goes along, but always remains understandable. Anna Faris and Meredith MacNeil are two good looking girls who are also in this film.

7/10 - just a normal, well written, and decently executed comedy film.

Shoresy season 2
9/10
not as good as season 1 but still fun.
it is more of the same formula-wise as last season, but it lacks a bit of the edge they had. feels almost like they werent sure if they would get any seasons after this so they wrote for a specific end state to land on. the comedy sections dont have the verbal polish or quasi absurdist reality of S1.
i was hoping for them to pick up almost directly after the S1 ending, but they went full timeskip past the playoffs and season championship into the next season. it feels like you are being robbed of seeing the thing S1 was all about building up to, and being plopped down into a static almost boring status quo of not being the underdogs. if they hadnt done the timeskip, shown the playoffs+championship for S2, and then had this season be S3 it would have felt more fitting.

season 3 has been greenlit.

nope. go take a nap, much better use of your time.
No, no that can't be right.

See .. i knew without googling that you had misspelled Jigen. I know who Jigen is, there is only 1 Jigen even without adding Daisuke.

Jigen is the right hand of Lupin III, THE original Lupin III and not that horribad modern french remake without any charm. I know Jigen need his hat to shoot because he learned to aim using the rim of the hat as ironisghts.

i cannot possibly *not* watch this. I dont care how horrible it is, i must watch.
