No, no that can't be right.

See .. i knew without googling that you had misspelled Jigen. I know who Jigen is, there is only 1 Jigen even without adding Daisuke.

Jigen is the right hand of Lupin III, THE original Lupin III and not that horribad modern french remake without any charm. I know Jigen need his hat to shoot because he learned to aim using the rim of the hat as ironisghts.

i cannot possibly *not* watch this. I dont care how horrible it is, i must watch.
Suit yourself. Also, the recent French show Lupin has nothing to do with Rupan Sansei, other than both referencing Arsene Lupin.

Rupan Sansei is a mixed "race" grandson of Arsene Lupin while Assane Diop is a fan of the Lupin books.

I wouldn't object to a reimagining of the Lupin cartoon, and, i loved Omar Sy in the film Untouchable - which i would recommend on its own merit.

But i didn't like the new Lupin show, because i don't like the character .. OR the heists. I think if you're gonna have a show about heists, at least the heists need to be good, mmk?

I'm not saying it's shit - but it's not worth my time. As for Jigen, i have to see it, i have to see for myself, even if just for

.. are we getting DDOS'd? AT is slow as hell while everything else works.

The Marvels

Anyone expecting this movie to be a pile of crap need not be disappointed!

I wasted money on it so you don't have to.

Seriously another movie made for overweight tweens who are more interested in munching on their popcorn and candy bars so Disney doesn't even try to engage them. The plot and expository dialogue is complete nonsense unless you are the sort who likes to think that deciphering incomprehensible crap is fun and indicative of a genius mind. At least Quantumania had some funny bits. This one tries hard but totally fails. I couldn't make myself chuckle even once, despite being extremely open to it!

Negative score.

I've just watched it for the first time. Well-made movie. It feels like a long time since I last watched a murder mystery film that I hadn't seen before so it was a nice change of pace. I'm grasping at what to compare this film to, I guess I'd go for LA Confidential, but that is a film I love and have seen many times, whereas this is a film that I consider time well-spent in watching but I doubt I'll ever watch it again.

I particularly liked this scene in the film:
It's unusually realistic for a film: Two people talking but they're talking at cross-purposes at least for part of the conversation, indicating two people sharing each other's company but each with their own thoughts and points of view. I think a lot of writers make the mistake of always having conversations involving two people engaging each other as if nothing else is going on but that conversation.

-Its really is a majestic film, one of the best, despite it's grotesque subject matter.

It takes so many of the time worn tropes: naieve rookie, disgruntled veteran, noble psychopath, and plays them so well and true to themselves that you can't help but stand in awe.

It's also from a time when studios and directors took movies seriously. Not like today where it's all about showing off visual effects or trying to crack lame jokes to make the audience laugh.

My advice is stop going and seeing all these mainstream Hollywood flicks and blockbusters you post about. Then you can see some quality stuff.

Watched the mini-series bodies on Netflix. Love good time travel loop stories and this one was pretty good. With some awkward moments but overall I was getting into the characters and the story. But then to me the ending was a big letdown. So 5 out of 10.

Also saw the killer on Netflix. That was better. Very moody interesting film with so little dialogue.

I'm excited to start a murder at the end of the world on Hulu. It's by the same showrunners that did the OA on Netflix which had a cult following and protests when it was canceled.

Whatever you think of the OA it was fascinating. A murder at the end of the world on Hulu has gotten pretty good reviews and the first two episodes released today. Let's go

.. that's some pretty good stuff mikey.

i watched another Rick & Morty - some really good writing this season. And i watched the first three of Lawmen: Bass Reeves - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15399640/reference/

What'chu need is the wikipedia article on this guy, he was an IRL Judge Dredd. Reeves often gets mentioned in the anti-woke social media, generally in the form of "why instead of race-swapping bullshit of the week dont we get a story of this guy" and now we finally do.
The first episode has Reeves while he was still a slave and he's still a weak character, compared to the moustache of manliness he was to become later, so just have patience through the first two episodes. Dennis Quaid also stars (unrecognizable), David Oyelowo is Reeves, Donald Sutherland is (still alive!) as the Judge.

vote pending (5 more episodes to go), likely 7.5/10

That movie sucked. It was a total snooze fest. I wish I never watched it.

It was like most Netflix movies in that it "felt" like a Netflix movie. I can't pinpoint exactly what I mean but nearly all movies made for these streaming services just lacks quality compared to something that is a theatrical release, and it come across while watching it.

The whole point of the movie was not to be your typical all wham bam thank you maam blockbuster action. I mean one of his first lines is something about how exhausting it is to do nothing. Which is literally a big part of the job. It was a different take on an assassin movie and I enjoyed not having the same formulaic stuff on the screen. I thought it got the whole point across pretty well.

it's my turn to the once again do the Old Man Yells At Cloud thing

i watched The Creator - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11858890/reference/

Which i recommend you should watch, and, also read the Wikipedia page. Was it good ? Well, no.

Ok so;

The plot is .. very basic. There is a soldier. There is a War Against Robots, and OBVIOUSLY there is a Child Robot (with magical powers) who is the McGuffin.
Soldier good guy realizes that he's been fighting on the wrong side because Emotions(tm).
Big kaboom and film ends.

The film is .. i want to say "overproduced", but think of any other film that you really though was overproduced, and we're not even in the same galaxy.
There is SO MUCH. content crammed into every frame, that it's impossible to process it all at once *if* you are on ADHD meds.

In itself, the content is spectacular. Everything from the costumes, sets, audio effects, visual effects, everything which is -production is absolutely stellar. The acting is good, the story is kinda meh, but the film is sooooo far up its own ass it's ain't even funny. It's just .. that someone thought that just shoveling as much shit as humanly possible into the film would somehow make it A GOOD FILM. And boy, does this film take itself seriously.

if this was a comic book, something that you could peruse at your own speed, then it would be great, and probably also 500+ pages long. But as a film, it's been made by someone who does not understand film because they do not understand that the audience is human. Yeah firefights are cool, but you cannot have 20 minutes of constant shockingly-loud audio, interspersed with 5-second songs, and a shitton of visual effects without creating the cinematic equivalent of white noise. I thought Babylon was loud, but jesus christ The Creator is in another league.

7/10 - it's .. full of good stuff. If they only used that to make a good film.

Witcher Season 3 was a banger. Disappointed that Cavill is leaving. Hoping Hemsworth can fill the role in his own way and keep the show going. The world of The Witcher is a fascinating one

No matter what you just said, the movie sucked and was boring as hell. It's clear from the reviews on IMDB and RT that the majority of the higher scores are shills. I read one that said "the movie is action packed!" lol not even close. There is like zero action.

I also watched Phenomenon (1996) - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117333/reference/

with John Travolta as the titular.
Random nice guy hick sees a light in the sky and next day he has superpowers. Think "Lawnmower man" superintelligence, can feel radio waves, move pencils with his thoughts.

.. but it's a romantic film. And, the romance isn't even convincing. In fact it leans much more towards the scifi, building up tension and a plot involving "The Man", but eventually they resolve this by taking away his powers but replacing them with Love(tm).

6/10 - some funny moments but, i would have rather had another Lawnmower Man.

And, Without A Clue - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096454/reference/

Michael Caine is absolutely superb as the fake Sherlock Holmes, the costumes and sets are excellent, the story is brilliant, and aside from 1 horrible plot hole (involving the delicious Lysette Anthony, AKA Princess Lyssa from Krull) it's a fantastic watch - which was very poorly received at the time. I guess critics wanted more Get Carter and couldn't cope with this side of Caine.

7.5/10 - absolutely recommended

We can agree to disagree. It was an assassin movie that was a nice break from the same ol same ol shit. I enjoyed the slow tension build up. The major action sequence in the middle was amazing. I enjoyed the moody atmosphere and psychological aspect of the whole thing vs just expecting constant action and explosions and super dumb over the top shit trying to top itself the whole movie, like most movies in this genre.

you probably would like
Gene Wilder stars, writes, and directs. it was generally called the Mel Brooks movie he never made much like Charade (1963) and Hitchcock
stars Madeline Khan, Marty Feldman, Dom Deluise, Leo McKern

i haven't seen it in decades, but i think it will probably age ok unlike some of Brooks' stuff.
