Greetings

I just got the new all black Logitech G7 and it fixed all the problems i had with the old one

The sides are now not all smooth and are now kinda rugged. My right mouse button now clicks normally and is not hard to push. And Its all black.

My biggest problem was the right mouse click. It was really hard to push. I called logitech and they sent me a new one in 3 days. i was quite impress.

I havent had time to test the battery but i was ok with the old time.

I really like the rugged sides, even when i sweat it stays in place. It is no longer all plastic. it has the feel of the old mice.

let me know if anyone has any questions

That's great to hear. I love my G7 but do find it a bit slippery at times

I have a MX-518, and I can tell you it's one nice mouse, so beyond it, really, truthfully how much better can a mouse be made? LOL, not a lot, it's just bells, whistles, and hype.

Cordless, and long lasting batteries, are all it really offers over another high-end gaming mouse. So I guess if you don't mind spending twice as much, then go for it, for me I'll stick to the MX-518, because for the price, you're never going to beat it.

it's a nice looking mouse but I still prefer my MX-518 at this point due to the foward and back side buttons also the color IMO is better on the MX-518

What Logitech needs to make is a mouse like the MX-518 but wireless IDK who designs these mouses but do they realize we want the two side buttons?

Um, my G7 cost me $19 flat brand new, so please, quit the hating. It's pathetic. I got the G7 because it's the best performing wireless mouse. If you like wired mice, the MX-518 is fine. However, for me, I HATE wires so the G7 mouse is the perfect solution.

The battery life is too short. On busy days with the computer where the mouse is really moving a lot I have to change the packs out TWICE! The rate of discharge practically matches the rate of charge! :Q

Otherwise, yes it handles well. The on the fly DPI change is very nice.

In the default gaming power mode, the battery life will last up to two and a half days for average game play.***

Where did you get the G7 Brand New for $19? The G7 is nice But still battery life and the two side buttons is what they need to and instead of trying to make the G7 look "hip" by putting some carbon fiber on it they should go with a sleek clean look the MX-500/MX-510/MX-518 all look good IMO the MX-1000 was okay and the G7 with the green wasn't that cool as not many people have green computers

JackBurton, sorry no one said anything about hating, and where the heck can you buy this G7 for $19?

LOL, you'd have to be well connected to get it at that price, HELL I bet even top Logitech staff can barely even get it that low.

This was by far the most comfortable logitech mouse.

They did make an optical version in dark blue but it didn't have the same nimble feel as the original and was quickly discontinued. They also had an "i-feel" version with some form of silly motion feedback I believe. It also foundered.

Damn I really want a G7 and would definately buy one if they weren't so damn ugly! It would ruin the look of my whole desk, yet they're such a cool mouse. Sigh.

I had the optical dark blue one briefly, it was extremely comfortable but the optical engine was terrible so I returned it. I wish they'd go back to that body style as well!
