new MB slows the entire system down? help!

I have a SB 2500K with 8 gig Win 7 64bit with the (Gigabyte) P67A-UD3-B3 Motherboard. This MB is the replacement I just got from NewEgg to replace the P67A-UD3 original MB which in essence the same MB with the sata3.0 fix.. Once I replaced the MB, the system is running a lot slower. Games are running noticably slower and my Windows Experience rating went down from 7.2 to 1.7. I am not sure what is going on. Computer is noticiably sluggisg.

I did not reinstall the OS, but should I?

I would refresh the chipset drivers first.

I'd say that you should reinstall your chipset drivers first and if that doesn't work then just reinstall Windows.

No, It wasn't overclocked. Plenty fast without it.

I went to the Intel site and downloaded the latest chipset drivers. Tried to rerun the windows experience again and the system just turned off.Thank you everyone. Will try!

You said WEI went from 7.2 to 1.7 Which category is dragging you down? I would try resetting the BIOS (I've had boards come with really weird a bad defaults before) and a clean install of Windows. If that doesn't work, you may have to RMA it again :'(

The CPU was 1.7. GPU went down too from 7.0 to 4.9. Others went down but not by as much. Will try both and see if it helps.

HSF might not have been installed properly if it's the standard push-pin mounting, what are the temps in the BIOS?

Also, did you run a memory test on the RAM? Perhaps the new motherboard isn't detecting the right settings for it or feeding it the right voltage.

Throttling, maybe? If it turned off, it sounds like it's either overheating, or your PSU is going out. Check your HSF mounting.

Go to msconfig boot advanced opt.
Check to see if your maximum memory is limited.

The only time win7 seemed slow to me was when windows reset the mem to the lowest setting.

Thanks Everyone for your tips. Don't know which one actually fixed it but I pulled out the RAM and made sure to put it back in correct as well as pulled out the HSF and reinstalled and that seems to have fixed it. Also downloaded the chipset update from Intel (Had one dated in April). Maybe the heat caused some issues. HSF was a little bit loose.
