I hope it has the central driver's seat.

And while the carbon fiber monocoque of the MP4-12C, dubbed the MonoCell (pictured below), will be shared with the P12, changes will be made to improve the stiffness and rigidity. Increased use of advanced materials will also feature in the P12’s construction to help reduce weight, including more titanium and magnesium as well as the requisite carbon fiber.
One thing that won’t be changing, sadly, is the two-seater configuration, which means there won’t be the unique 1+2 seating arrangement seen in the F1 supercar.
The renderings I have seen based on this picture look like an MP4-12C on steroids - kind of like what the Hennessey Venom GT is to an Exige. If true, I think this is a misstep by McLaren. The MP4-12C seems like a great car, but there's something kind of boring about it (the name is a good illustration of that larger flaw) and its appearance. I don't love the idea of the new hypercar sharing a tuned version of the MP4-12C's drivetrain, and I certainly don't love the idea of it sharing that car's looks.

What's wrong with the 12C's drive train? I can see a problem with sharing looks though. That's just lazy. The 918 spyder looks nothing like a 911 for example.
There's nothing wrong with the 12C's drivetrain, on that car. But to put it on a wildly more expensive hypercar just seems too pedestrian. It's as if Ferrari had taken a tuned version of the 360's drivetrain and put it into the Enzo. I feel like a bespoke hypercar at this kind of price point deserves a bespoke drivetrain.
