My name is Sam. I’m AMD’s newest Community Manager and joined the Forum about a week ago (I’ve been looking at the Video Cards & Graphics and PC gaming forums). You can learn more about me in my original self-introduction post here: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2338295&highlight=

You’ll see I’m passionate about hardware and gaming; my first build was an 80286 based PC, and the first game that got me "hooked" was Wolfenstein 3D (I haven't stopped playing since).

I'm looking forward to help you by answering questions on existing products/services and learn from you as I have noticed there are lots of experts here! :biggrin:



Folks, obligatory "do not derail this thread, please" message here. This thread is in the CPU forum because it is supposed to be about CPUs.

This thread is NOT about Video Cards, games, AMD marketing initiatives, bundles, or other aspects of how AMD conducts business.

I have been messing with android on my aging c-50 and it works decently. A few months back I read from a few "News" outlets that chrome os/android support is in the works. Is there anything you can say about this? What is the word on APU android support?

What piques my curiosity is how AMD can put some competitive pressure on Intel with upcoming product releases, or if some current products be leveraged to produce meaningful (higher end) gaming performance for the enthusiast crowd?

You know how the CPU forums can get intense sometimes. Not everyone makes it. Some people... well. I've only heard rumours about how they disposed of the body.

Yea, havent really seen any answers from him in either the gpu or cpu forums. If he cant reply to something, seems like he could at least say that, instead of just ignoring so many questions.

I didnt remember such hatred when Intelenthusiast
was still in this forum as an official Intel representative ,
didnt see any AMD supporter being irrespectful or insulting

Prolly cause some people dont know a way to feel better about themselves than by denigrating the one next to them. Sad times indeed.

Instead of giving the benefit of the doubt and think "ok, he might be gathering the info asked in this thread to come up with a good answer", we get this.

Hoping he can disclose about future SR-derived APUs. Would be nice to see AMD pulling a Thuban again and packing 2 extra cores (1 module in this case) into an existing product without compromising too much the TDP envelope.

I think I'd rather attempt to sell pornography to preachers than sell AMD CPUs to a tech forum enthusiast.
Maybe if I had his job and was on another forum that isn't so tech savvy.
