It has been taken from Gore. During the recount there it has been labeled too close to call!

Let's see.. Now let's demand a recount in Wisconsin and Iowa.

Has the will of the people been done there?

I just heard the news and they were saying some results fm Republican areas in New Mexico are unaccounted for or are missing in the tabulation due to a computer glitch...my young kid hearing this blurted out, "It's a Gore Conspiracy!!!!!"
I asked him why he said that and he told me cuz...
"Al Gore invented the computer."
Hehehe! LOL...

bigvince,

Yep, I saw the same numbers, BUT that does not include the "I'm too stupid to punch the hole" county.

As for New Mexico, after the recount is done, it will still go to Bore.

Russ, it's not entirely about punching the hole, it's about the holes on the paper that you insert behind the "butterfly ballot" not matching up all the time.

Just goes to show the republikans will do anything to get Shrub elected!

My God,the hypocracy of the right wing is so glareingly obvious, its frightening!! How in hell do the republikans expect to get anyone to accept there policies or anything else if they do the same damn thing they accuse the dems of doing?:|:|:|

But I suppose it's perfectly fine for the Democommies to demand a hand count in Florida since they're just dicks, not hypocrites, right?

The people need to be heard. Just like the gore campaign said. They will be heard, through high priced lawyers behind closed doors.

For once, I agree with Russ. Bore lost, get over it.

All Al Gore has to do to put a stop to this nonsense is make a phone call to the FL officials and tell them he won't challenge the outcome of this election and the final recounts are unquestionably final. If he and the democrats, in their blatant thirst for power at any price, take this country down with them, I sincerely hope they become politicially impotent for an entire generation.

BTW, this is all moot. Strom Thurmond will be your next president. I don't know exacly how he'll pull it off but at age 98 we all underestimate him.

I don't know who initiated a recount in New Mexico, or even if it has happened, but when I look at CNN's results for the state, I can see why a recount may be qualified. Not unlike the Florida totals, the difference is less than .04% between them....

New Mexico Totals (CNN)

Gore 284,762
Bush 284,589

Difference = 173 votes

Zippy,

In King County, here in Washington, we used EXACTLY the same butterfly ballot and equipment from the same company that manufactured Florida's. We used it for nearly a decade from late the 1980's to late 1990's. There was never any problem with it here, and this county is more than twice as large as the one in question.

It's nothing more than a desperate attempt to steal the office from President-Elect Bush.

I heard that Mary Matalan (she's married to James Carville, ODD couple) called a poll worker in Palm Beach county and was told that these 19,000 ballots that got tossed also included the ones that people turned in for new ones. ("Ooops, I screwed up. May I have another one? Thanks.) So, these people got to vote for who they wanted.

Also, I'm hearing complaints that the ballots didn't line up with the punchholes. BOLLOCKS! I've used punch ballots and there are two big red pins that the ballot fits over making it darn near impossible to leave in crooked. And IF it was possible to put it into the slot wrong, why weren't ALL the votes wrong? Hmmmmmm?

I guess it's another bogus argument from the desperate to hang onto power Dems.

I didnt care for Gore beforehand ... but I really dislike him now ... hes a snake in the grass ... if he was a real man he would wait till they count the absentee ballots and then if he doesnt win it .. he would concede ... but hes not going to be satisfied until hes president ... one way or the other .. hes going to do whatever he has to .. whether it drags our country through the mud or not ... I'm very disappointed in the democrats ... he has not one but 75 lawyers on this ... who do you think is ultimately going to lose???? I'll tell you ... us the American people are going to be the real losers in this whole thing.

All of the democrat supporters are mostly on welfare (our tax money), a union member, or too dumb to decide who to vote for, or cannot not punch holes in a ballot.

Red Dawn You continue to amaze and amuse!

Keep the EC!

If you think this election was ugly you must have missed the thread about REAL ugly when Lincoln was elected. Politics have been ugly from their beginnings.....caveman days that is!

GW has won it according to the Constitution.

Hey Red,

That was a nice load of meaningless, non-specific, off the top of your head, unsubstantiated and useless opinion a couple posts ago. But, I digress.

I really only posted to mention that you are only a handful of diatribes away from the 10K club. Of course, I will be demanding a recount.

Red Dawn,

That's the whole point of having an EC; giving the smaller states relatively more say than they otherwise would have. From your POV, why not just get rid of the Senate while you're at it and we could just have a Prime Minister instead of a President.
