new mobo and cpu .low performance

hi,i hope you ca help me.i upgradet my pc from a nforce 405 motherboard to a 630i and de processor from amd single core 2.4 gh to pentium e5200 dual core.the problem is it seems that performance dropted.it takes longer to install win ,longer to load win ....and i observed that after installin windows,installing sp3 ..all drivers,antivirus ...the temp of system is around 50 celcius degrees and the processor is 20-30 celcius degrees . also the temp of graphic card seems high more than 55 celcius but only in games.thanks!!

Is the motherboard and CPU the only changes? You may have slow RAM and you may have a slower HDD. If its an older HDD it may be showing its age. Same can be said for older RAM.

the other copmponents are the same as they were before "upgrade" and they worked fine .i only changet the mobo and cpou and the system is slower.3 gb ram,samsunf sata 250gb disk.what about the temps?...are they high?thank you!!

The processor temp seems in range, GPU might be a tad high. Who is the Video Manufacture? Like the previous comment, the ram and HD might be a bottle neck for the new CPU and MOBO. Change the ribbon/sata cable on the HD see if that helps.

What kind of case fans do you have? one in the front and one in the back? If you have two, make sure the one in front is intake and the one in the back is exhaust. you want a good flow.

hi.the video card is a msi geforce7900 gto.i actually allready changet the cable ..but it's exactly the same tipe of cable..standard sata .i only have the system(psu) fan..the video has incorporeted fan.still why is the system temp so high ..has a radiator on it..the last mobo ,also gigabyte had a normal 30-35 degrees celcius.today i updated bios ..but i have onother dillema ..should i install the latest chipset driver from gigabyte or nvidia.i'm begging to think that is something wrong with the mobo ..the floppy doesn't work ///worket fine ten days ago on the other chipset...doesn't see diskette.i don't think that it's such a performant system that it needs two fans ..i have friends with better pc and they have no problem with the standard psu fan only.hey i hope i didn't make you crazy with all this explaining.thank's!!@

Download from Nvidia. Since floppies are still IDE make sure the cable is in correctly, no bent pins. The Floppy has its own controller, make sure you didnt plug it into the IDE HD spot.

Yes, you can run a system without case fan(s), but the internal system temp will be high and it will be prone to more problems than systems with them. At least have an exhaust fan.
To me, running a computer without at least an exhaust fan is like driving your car without an radiator fan.

thank you bwatson283 ..it seems that everithing it's ok installed with floppy ...still doesn't work.exhaust fan ?>front or back?..this case doesn't have a spot in the front to place a fan..only in the back.even if i solve the temp issue ..the pc will still work like my old celeron with 256 ram...this is realy anoyng!please excuse the foulty english!

You mentioned you have 3 gbs of ram. Is that 2X1 and 2X512? If so, I would try it with just the 2X1 and see if that helps. It's possible that one pair of ram is much slower than the other and the mobo is cranking the speed down to match.

The other thing I would do is to check the bios and make sure it's running at the rated 2.5 ghz. My bro put together a system with a Q6600 and we couldn't figure out why it was so slow until we saw in the bios that for some reason, it was running at 1.6 instead of the stock 2.4.

where can i change in bios?i have only fsb and something ..but no frequency.i have only 2 ram slots and i have 2+1 gb ram..anyway the motherboard does not support dual-channel ram...at least that's what somebody told me.thanks

CPU speed is a product of FSB and clock multiplier. The e5200 has a stock FSB of 800 Mhz. What are yours currently for these two things?

If you only have 2 slots, try with just the 2 gig stick and see what happens.
