Round Based Battlefield is a modification for Battlefield Vietnam in which the standard conquest game mode is forgone for a slower paced, team oriented and objective based game mode. The constant war of attrition over flags is replaced by an concentrated effort towards an objective: escort a vehicle; destroy a bridge; search and rescue; VIP transport, and so on.
Each team will have to be conscious of its resources: constant respawning of players and equipment has been removed. In addition to these gameplay changes, RBB incorporates numerous other changes to enhance the play of BFV. The kits have been completely changed to create a new feel for each team. A new medic and grenadier class have been added along with new weapons such as a smoke grenade launcher and a deployable bush for snipers to hide in. The APCs have been improved to serve a more central role. There are many subtle changes completed and planned for the future.
RBB is not for everyone, but hopefully it will prove to be a more enjoyable game to some due to the rewards for teamwork, planning and skill.
