New Moderator Selection

This is the official moderator nomination thread for Console Gaming.

We will compile a list of nominees through Monday night. Voting on nominees will take place in this thread Tuesday through Thursday. The candidate with the most votes will have the opportunity to become a moderator for this and one other secondary non-social forum of their choosing.

Either before or after the vote, a candidate can withdraw his or her name from consideration. In the event that the candidate with the most votes withdraws his or her name, the candidate with the next most votes will be extended the opportunity, and so on.

AnandTech resevers the right to veto nominations at our discretion. We will do our best to allow you to pick the candidates you feel best suit the needs of your forum, but we won't allow members who can't follow guidelines to be put in a position to enforce them on others.

We will keep a list of nominees in this thread. If a nominee has been vetoed or has withdrawn their name from consideration, a note will be made next to their name. This will be done to prevent multiple posts nominating the same member. If the member you want to moderate this forum is already on the list, please don't post.

Please only post the name of the nominee in your replies. Please make sure it is spelled correctly before posting.

The very point of putting voting threads in individual forums was to allow the members who frequent those forums the ability to have some choice on who moderators and represents them. This should have been clear, and we apologize for any ambiguity.

We are disqualifying and removing from the running anyone who does THIS. Anyone who couldn't figure out that we wanted specific category representatives has already shown that they don't have the judgment we will require from a moderator.

I throw my support behind Modeps. No offense Queasy, I love ya and all, but all I see from you is news reposts. My preference is to have somebody mod who has already shown that they visit a wide number of threads and participates in the discussion. I could be wrong and Queasy posts impressions and arguments all the time, I guess I just don't see them.

None taken. I know I'm not the most talkative person in the world but I try to chime in when I think I have something to contribute or I can help. I also just like to post stuff that starts discussions.

I see what you are saying, but I think Queasy posts enough in threads where he knows the topic. I just think Queasy may be a little more level-headed and fair overall and better suited to be a mod.

There was some rally a little while ago, this shot was taken. Nice to see people out supporting a good cause.
Good luck to all the candidates. While I'm on the trail this week, I'll keep the mudslinging to a minimum as I do respect the field of entrants.... well, except for Warcrow. That dude is up to NO GOOD.

My press conference announcing my candidacy was at 10am EST today. It was a huge success.

Strangely, soon after the Press Con, this turned up. I want to say, before it gets out of hand, I had nothing to do with this and am appalled that someone would be spreading such information.

I know that while Modeps was sending me campaign propaganda messages over XBL, Queasy was actually playing with us on Forza Game Night. Queasy is a man of the people!

(Also, Modeps made fun of me for being too serious in a thread yesterday)

In all seriousness, I think Queasy would make a great moderator. It seems like a pretty cool guy and is a regular here like many of us. Also, I love it when he talks about sex with his wife--it's kind hot. ;-P

IMO any Lifer (and maybe others) will make a fine mod. We just need somebody who's been around long enough to know how things are done and the rules around these parts. It makes no difference to me how they post or their opinions on certain topics as that doesn't seem to come into play as a mod.
