I know this forum is used by a lot of gamers.Perhaphs someone with heavy use of Photo editing (Photo-chop) can help me .
Considering the low prices on 19" LCD monitors . I decided to go for one .
To my disappointment the Samsung 931B was not good on depiction of colors and contrast.
I don't play games , sorry.Mostly is Music editing and Photo editing and Internet browsing ,and maybe an ocasional movie.
Current set up is a DELL 4550,with 1 gig of memory.Video card is Geforce Ti4200 agp 8x with 128mb DDR, it operates at 533 Mhz dvi and vga support. Please don't laugh
Monitor used is Dell M991 operating @ 1024X768 refresh rate at 75hertz.
I really like this resolution especially for photo editing.
Now questions.
Question # 1- Should i go the LCD route, based on the duties i use the monitor for?
Scared by the statement on point 8 of the post lcd buyers guide "LCDs do tend to have problems reproducing skin/subtle tones vibrantly"
I read the lcd buyers guide and some others posts and i got the mixed feeling they are more dedicated to the gamers point of view.
2 choices out of this : NEC MultiSync LCD2070NX and Samsung SyncMaster 215TW.
Both 8 bit panel one S-IPS other S-PVA.
Any other to consider?
Question #2-Will a newer Video card improve the the quality and color reproduction of the LCD?
Question # 3- if that the case , i will rather go with something silent or whisper quiet, without going overboard on price, remember not a gamer ...
What are your recommendations? Thank you in advance
