I am rebuilding my system and am wondering which m/b for the following components?

I am considering the P6T SE due to an excellant bundle deal.

I am aware that there will be no SLI with this board if I get it and it is not a problem.

i7 920 cpu (want d0 stepping)
4890 gpu (thinking of CF when needed)
3X2gb ocz gold 1600 ram
WD 640 gb black caviar HD
Antec 640W Treo psu

I also have a X-fi Fatality soundcard.

It will be a general purpose pc that I will o/c to comfortable levels. (gaming CS2 etc)

Thanks & Rgds

Wouldn't get the SE no matter what.

For a high-end non-showoff rig I'd get a P6T Deluxe V1/V2 or an EX58-UD5.

I have two p6t's, one classified, 1 UD5, for the money take the UD5. The TDP limits on the P6T are reason enough so pass on them.
Also you will need a different Psu if you go Cross Fire.

NF200 slows down performance in comparison to non-NF200 boards even in Tri-Sli due to the native X58 PCI-E lane bottleneck of two, one for one and one for two interfaces.

The model without NF200 is not worth the extra money compared to Eclipse, R2E or the new Foxconn Flaming Blade because they all have their own unique hardware features while the EVGA just sells on brand name and stupidity.

Steer clear.

The Classified has its good points, can run tri-sli with 7 expansion slot case, without mods, lol. Seems to be able to reach higher max overclocks a bit better than most boards, can usually break the 222 b-clock wall with D0 chips. But for the money, I can't recomend it. The Gigabyte UD5 is my favorite so far. 4.6Ghz 24/7 stable.

I have run Gigabytes for years and am also thinking of trying the Classifies w/o NF200. I have a Gigabyte 8KNX Ultra with dual Adaptec Ultra 320 chips built in that the last storm caused water damage and killed it. So I want something reliable that I can expand on later. That's why I think the Classified would make a good replacement and the warranty and CS is top notch. But I am not totally decided as it's a lot of money and I don't want to make a mistake so like you needing all the input here to help.

Thanks, JASTECH
