I'd have a moto play already if they would of sold it in the US. Now I'm playing the waiting game for the moto pure to come out so I can actually get my hands on it.

I'm trying to upgrade from my S5 and this phone seems like the only thing worth it right now

It can multitask like a champ. No difference to the Nexus 5 I've come from in that regard. Functional performance (i.e. launching of apps etc.) is identical to the Nexus 5. The choppier animations are purely an aesthetic issue.

I've noticed that the Nova launcher runs smoother than Google Now launcher so that can help somewhat. Installing Adguard or Firefox with an adblocking extension speeds up web browsing significantly.

Almost ordered a Moto X Pure, sounds like a pretty nice phone at a reasonable price, but I held off because I want to see how the new Nexus 5 &6 turn out.

The colors in the X Play look a bit whack for those photos. Like the green is almost fluorescent in the grass. The N5 colors look more realistic.

I was there, taking the pictures. The Moto X Play has the more realistic colours. Trust me. The grass really was that green. It's as if the Nexus 5 casts an Instagram-like filter over the scene.

I could tell from the photos you posted.
I'm still waiting to get a moto x pure in my hands to play with to see if the size is too much coming from a S5 it might be
