New MSI Pro2-A Bios?

I was just at their german site and they have a bios up dated 1/2001 version 2.1. Is this new?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I did update and I saw about a 10 point increase in my Sandra memory score.

I`ve just upgraded my Bios to 2.1 from 2.0 anybody know what it fixes? btw MSi Live Bios works great.

Oh I highy reccomend this BIOS, seems like it imporves preformance and got word from my friend that it fixes issues with win95 on these boards. Also he mentioned that it fixes other little issues. Any one else see any preformance increases?

This Bios is for all the MSI K7T PRO series boards,I`ve the MSI K7T PRO & the upgrade flash to 2.1 was fine.

task manager says Live bios is running.

I've followed MSI's directions about downloading and installing from web.

DukeLeto,not long seconds normally, anyway once you have the Live Bios program installed you just click on it & it will check for updates,anyway I wonder if you have some sort of security feature enabled that might be stopping it from checking your details,I presume you have downloaded & installed the Live Bios program OK.


Go here for Live Bios program click on bottom left of screen,this installs the Live Bios program that will allow you to check for updates.

hmm i still like the overclockers bios more...more voltage settings and my memory scores seem to be better than what i get with the 2.1

Get the one off the US site (v10b14)... it is the best BIOS for the pro2-a IMO... no need to unlock the L7's to get more juice and the memory scores (performance) are better than any other pro2-a BIOS.

Hasn't improved my Sandra memory scores. Still stuck on 408/494.
I think it is because of my NCP 128 MB Pc133 CAS3.
Memory is controled by SPD in BIOS.

i am using 2000 pro version

i am using 1 NCP 128 and 1 micron 128

I am using Sandra 2001 Standard edition. I only have 128 MB RAM installed
I wonder just how much difference there is between Sandra versions - benchmark wise.

if you hav cas3 memory it is better to force it to use cas2. Only with top quality memory like crucial, micron, infineon, etc cas2 should you set it at SPD because then it will choose the best settings for you like interleaving and what not. If you don't have that memory get the OC'ers bios and force interleaving and cas2.


I have 256mb crucial cas2-2-2 so that's why i get the really good memory scores when i have it set to SPD

i tried to set it to cas2 but the memory scores is lower than i set it to auto

My scores are also much lower when I set my ram to CAS2. Much faster when using SPD.
I don't really want/need the extra features in the Overclocking BIOS, as I am not going to o/c.
I may get it if there is a big increase in performance.
Are there many problems with this BIOS, stability wise??

It's a pity the overclocking BIOS isn't on the Live BIOS update site!
