I just came back from Staples with mine. It is live. I was able to use a $30 tablet coupon also. Mine came to $212 out the door. Also ordered 1 online in case they didn't let me buy it in store for same price.

Have to go to Slickdeals to find the coupon, as Staples has updated their coupon link to now exclude this coupon. Don't know if this will still worrk.

Funny thing is I can't verify if it is the 2013 model. Guess I'll have to find an app.

Yes camera on front and back. The screen I must say is amazing! Comparing to Retina display for sure, maybe better. No lie.

a comment about the rear facing camera..

it isn't just for taking pics. There are apps that use the camera to measure things, to translate things, to scan barcodes, to play games.

So its a good thing to have it.

How are the colors? 95% of the comments are on ppi which to me doesn't amtter after a certain point. However, washed out colors are far more noticeable IMO.

They don't seem washed out at all, although I may not be the one to ask. I'm kind of more concerned about the text quality, which is very good.

One odd thing I noticed was that the headphone jack took a little bit of 'encouragement' to work.

I've got my old N7 from yesterday, and now a new N7.

I am going to return the old N7 tomorrow, the new screen is simply awesome. The old one seems washed out and dull. The new is more saturated and more accurate.

The old one is still a fine tablet though. I wonder how it feels with 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Thanks for the link, inside the link there's info on how to get $25 off when you sync your twitter account with your american express account and thus post a tweet that you are purchasing something at best buy via twitter.

I placed an online order for an instore pickup using said method. Will pick up my nexus 7 later on today, lets see if the $25 off works. (It pays for tax *woot*)

Anandtech mini review of the nexus 7 is up. Highlights

• This s4 pro is using krait 300 cores instead of krait 200 cores like the s4 pro of last year. Thus it is effectively a downclocked s600. 1.8x improvement on cpu, 4x improvement on gpu compared to the tegra 3 quad core.
• The screen has a big improvement in brightness (585 nits), color accuracy, and ppi
• The speakers are louder and in stero
• The reduction of weight makes a significant difference.
• Much faster nand, with fstrim enabled by default, aka Garbage Collection if screen is off, cpu at idle, and battery at 70% or greater (Android 4.3 will also add fstrim to the old nexus 7, which desperately needs it.)
• 5ghz dual band wifi support
• Qi wireless charging

As of yesterday, Amazon was paying $71 for a "like new" 16GB one. The asking price is almost double that on Swappa ($125 to $150ish) but that site seems to be flooded with them and I'm guessing that's going to drive the price down as more and more people try to sell theirs and pick up the 2013 model.

(Can you tell I looked for the same information?)

I am having GPS lock issue with my new N7. I'll update later in a couple days.
Side by side the old N7 locks immediately.

My god the wifi is better on this thing than the old nexus 7. Previously I could only see 5 or so wifi access points/routers from my house on 2.4 ghz.

Now I see 17 wifi access points/routers on 2.4 ghz (no wonder I was having problems with wifi dropping) and only my router on 5 ghz.

Just picked mine up and damn this one is MUCH lighter than the previous one. Yes the top and bottom bezels look funny because they are larger than the sides but makes it much easier to hold that way. Speakers are a HUGE upgrade as well. Also really noticeably faster. And damn that screen alone is worth the upgrade.

I can replicate my GPS issue.

Using GPS Test, it locks immediately after a fresh reboot. However, if I turn off GPS and turn it back on, the GPS refuses to lock.

Anyone else seeing this issue?

This is the only issue I am having. It appears to be software related. The screen is absolutely gorgeous. Anandtech's mini review rates it higher than iPad mini's screen. Bonus on the processor being Snapdragon 300 (not 200 like N4) which is really just a binned 600.
