I installed the drivers tonight. They seem fine sofar, much better in fact.
Under the previous drivers I got eratic Sandra file system benchmarks on my raid array,
I was getting anywhere from 46mb to 82mb, one time I got 94. I seemed to average in the 60's. But with the new drivers I have run three straight passes and get 99 every time.

Well, I left the new driver alone after running it, and an hour and a half later, theyre installed and working nicely. Dont know why the install took so long, its always been relatively speedy. I was running stock speeds while updating.

One caveat: I have a Maxtor Non-Diamondmax SATA drive (160GB) that I still lose sometimes in Windows. I was hoping this was a driver issue, but it seems to be BIOS related... on a cold start, it'l see it, but after being in Windows for a while, it disapears. If I reboot the box while its still plugged into Nvidia SATA port 3 or 4 (enabled, RAID disabled) which it was just working on, the machine locks up at the very beginning (barely see the Windws logo) of the Windows splash screen. Guess I have to wait and see if a new BIOS from Asus fixes this?

Other than that, the new driver is working ok.

The driver they put out did not fix my issue.
My issue is with my Plextor PX-716A burner. I can't burn a perfect CD unless I am in <=UDMA1.
I've tried many combos
-1.02, 1.03, 1.04 firmware
-MS/old nVidia/new nVidia IDE driver
-UDMA 4/3/2
-MS Windows XP sp1a/sp2
-80/40 pin cable

None of them worked until I moved down to UDMA1. And this new driver did not fix it :'(

Our board is for all intents ands purposes is a nforce 4 vanilla. I installed these drivers and this system has performed fine even with NCQ enabled. I say go for it!

For Vedder323, to enable NCQ follow this: Device manager, IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers, go to the ADMA Controller (I have two.....), the second one in my list allows me to change the settings in the primary & secondary channel tab (first one doesnt, all greyed). 4th tick box down, Enable Command Queuing.

Board and HDD need to support it.

I installed it right on top of the old ones and it works fine...NCQ is on by default..which is a bit scary...but disk seems faster than before. I did a backup to my other computer over network...It shifted 6.5 gb in 20 min and i had no errors during that time...Anyone tried copying large files to the disk and did it gave errors?

I am confused with audio part of the driver. When i first installed it i let audio components install too...i then lost my realtek panel on a8n-sli-deluxe and got an nforce one...which was great but it messed up the sound...especially on my tv tuner...

System Restored to the point before installing drivers and run installation again left out the audio installation and everything is fine...

I dont get this...if they are realteks codecs how come drivers are installing nforce audio?
And why they mess up the sound?

I was having some small general problems with the 5.10 unified drivers from nVidia even with NCQ disabled (I have the SATA Maxtor DiamonMax 10 250GB). So I found a link to some beta nForce 6.37 drivers and decided to give them a shot. The decision turned out to be a good one since they cleared up most of my problems. However, after reading this thread, I went in to check my controller and guess what. . .NCQ was already enabled apparently when I installed the 6.37 drivers. . .and I have been running it all week like this without knowing it until now. I am going to go ahead and upgrade to the 6.39 drivers now just to be "official" but thought this might be worth mentioning. I'd say go ahead with enabling your NCQ.

Wow!

Well, I did encounter a problem. Interestingly, the problem is not the IDE driver! Weird. The new ethernet driver gives me BSOD (nvnrm.sys) when running Steam. I re-installed ethernet driver 4.6.4.0 and Steam seems okay so far.

Anyone else?

So is your Maxtor DiamondMax 10 drive your primary drive where your OS is installed? Because I have almost the exact same setup, and I just want to make sure that NCQ on by default won't screw up my system.

I have a maxtor 10 300gb as my primary drive, and NCQ has been fine.. both with these drivers, and the previous. This is with the Gigabyte board though.

Wow! I am finally happy.... 6.39 nvidia drivers and bios 1004.01 have (seemingly) fixed all my Maxtor problems and I am even able to overclock the cpu finally!!!! No problems with drive recognition on cold and warm boots... Great Great Great.

Oddly enough, the new ethernet drivers seem to be working fing on my NF3 board. I wonder if NV made a mistake and actually meant to release these drivers for the NF3 family of boards?

They're nForce drivers. They work on all nForce boards, even the NF1 and 2 for K7. For some reason the Windows does not want to install the audio driver for on my K8N Neo2. I had to force it to use the driver in device manager.

That's odd because they installed just like normal on my Soltek K8AN2E-GR. I didn't have to force anything and everything was WHQL'd. I am really pretty happy with them. I just added GART, aside from that, it's a very complete driver set.

Did your audio driver update? Mine was using 4.57 and the installer did not update it. I had to manually do the "Have Disk" along with the hardware warning. It is working fine though. Here is a pic.

EDIT: it looks like my mixer did not update either. I ran the setup in the audio util folder to installethat manually too: pic

GD, what striping are you using with your array? You have a pair of 74GB Raptors correct?

If you have these drivers, Windows installed on a Maxtor NCQ Drive, and NCQ enabled then please report back to us. Also mention if you had NCQ enabled and if it worked absolutely perfect on your last drivers.

I'm running a Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe with a Maxtor Diamondmax 250gb. Using 1.2 bios and new drivers, everything works perfectly with NCQ enabled. This was a new build so these were the first drivers I used.

Anyone found that after installing the NVIDIA Firewall, there machine wont shut down? Mine hangs on the "Windows is shutting down". even cant restart after a chkdsk (so OS isnt fully up), so doesnt seem to be a hung process. (Using a Gigabyte SLI)

Also, whats everyones thoughts on this Util, really needed if you've got a hardware router?

See, I install my UDPs differently. I uninstall them while in Windows. I then reboot into safe mode and clean up my system with Driver Cleaner (both files and the cabs). When that is done I go back into Windows and do a "clean install" of the UDPs. As a result, I've never had a problem, and this time was no exception. All the drivers were installed properly.

I'm also using 1003. I also reverted back to the ethernet driver off the install CD. Did you keep the new SW-IDE driver, or did you re-install all the drivers from the CD?

Also, whats everyones thoughts on this Util, really needed if you've got a hardware router?

I ran into a problems trying to get my VPN connection into my office to work.. Using the same dial in product (AT&T Net Client) on my other pc behind the same router worked fine.. but that ran on W2k, whereas this time I was running XP w/SP2.. So naturally I figure some config or compatability issue with XP.. and went through hoops trying to sort it out. I tried switching to the Marvell port (having read that the active armor, etc only impacted the Nvidia port.) but still no go... Then I uninstalled the utility and everything worked fine... So somehow that utility does impact both LAN ports. I guess the active armor is built into the hardware and the Net. Acc. Mgr utility works for both ports...

It's always nice to try to take advantage of all the goodies they package into these boards, but I do think if you are already behind a router you'll be o.k.. You can always activate the Windows Firewall.. or better yet, throw on something like ZoneAlarm , etc. if you want the added software firewall protection...

I used the "optimal" setting, I believe it's 132? And yes 2 x 74gb raptors

IDE driver is ok for me, but new ethernet driver sucks. That gives me BSOD when using skype or playing some games. I re-installed ethernet driver from Motherboard CD and everything looks ok now.
