Well ive read of the new nForce boards supposidly coming in march.. now im waiting for the T-breds to hit, but i was going to buy a KT333A board.. but.. now that ive read there might be a cheaper nForce board that will be the 2nd generation for em coming out in march, hmmm... decisions decisions..

Whats the word here guys? Is it REALLY gonna come out in March.. or is it going to be one of those things that gets delayed for a month or something.. i currently run a 1.4Ghz T-Bird on a KG7 board.. so i can live for a little bit.. but if it makes no sense to wait right now.. then ;/

BAH.. i think im just impatient..

damn technology makes me giddy/ and pissed at the same time ;(

More Nforce News

There is a revision of the first nForce board (DDR333 support, and more I assume) that was reported to be coming out in March.
nForce 2 should be out by the Summer.

Xprow - No, you are not impatient. It looks like the delay with the 415 boards have something to do with this forthcoming revision. nVidia should have said (currently say) something about what is going on. I've waited a while for this 415 board. Understand, that I want them to take their time and get it right (listen up Via), but it would be nice to hear what is up with the chipset announced in December.

one thing i dont get is this.. Now the twinbank memory is supposed to be great cause it allows the intergrated graphic chip more bandwith correct? So is this board only good if u want a intergrated graphics chip? I plan on using my GeForce3 Ti200, yet i noticed the scores for the 415-D without the intergrated graphics chip is higher then the previous boards.. is the upped bandwith from the twinbank memory system thingy just a waste, or does it do anything to help as im assuming the athlon FSB is a factor somewhere along the lines (in other words, its only as fast as its slowest component). Im leaning towards the nForce just cause of the price ($30 w/ out igc), but KT333 is supposidly faster, yet the twin bank architechture give a lot more bandwith yet there is less performance then the KT333... that is where im confused.. why is it slower!? Is it the drivers or what? hmm

Could you provide a link compairing the KT333 and the nForce 415? I was under the impression that some of the KT333 solutions ran below 266A benchmarks. Here is a review (check out the features) + benchmarks for the new ABit 415 board - Abit NV7-133R

Twinbank was developed for the integrated video and many hold the argument that is would be useless without the integrated video. Nevertheless, I have heard that the extra bandwidth it provides, allows better (more stable) multitasking.

Look, whether the nForce revision pulls ahead of the new VIA, or the KT333 stays in the lead, it is only going to be by a slight margin.

The benifits of having a STABLE chipset from a reputable company (who have always been great with driver updates - wouldn't be surprised if the nForce benchmarks keep going up) is the selling point for me.

If you want one frame/sec more in Quake III then get the VIA (although that might not be the case); if you want to play Quake III without it crashing, then get the nForce.

Please provide any info you have comparing the two chipsets. Maybe there is more of a gap than I can see.
