New stuff is ok, I enjoy the old stuff for the novelty of it. Obviously not the best metal out there, but this is more gimmick metal anyway. Still enjoyable to listen to.

Haven't heard the new stuff, but I certainly plan on it. I've been listening to their music since the late 90s, and I really enjoy it. I was very upset when Tarja left, but they still deserve a chance.

Great as usual, you can see how much Tuomas rules as a composer by listening to the instrumental disk, it never gets boring and thats quite a feat

Now you get to see who really liked Nightwish and who was just a Tarja fanboy/girl (all the ones screaming "ANETTE SUCKS!")

what instrumential disk? why do i not have it?


anyway the new cd IMO is excellent, the more i listen to it the more i like it, very pleased as a fan with the new singer, only concern i have is how well she sings the older stuff, seeing as everyone is used to Tarja doing it, will be interesting to she how she does with it

Angels Fall First was good, but a crappy production, as can be expected from a first album from a small time band.
Oceanborn and Wishmaster were awesome.
Century Child was not as good, but still good enough.
Once was way too mainstream, if I wanted Within Temptation, I would've bought WT.
New stuff...same as Once.

Oceanborn and Wishmaster will probably forever be the pinnacle of their career in my eyes.

I'll have to pick the CDs, these sound alright and I've enjoyed their previous work.

Personally, I really like the new album. I like Anette's vocals as much as I liked Tarja's. Not better or worse, but different, and I think the songs are made to be better suited to her voice than they would be for Tarja's, just as some of the older songs I think might sound a little strange sung by Anette.

The album itself: Typical Nightwish. A huge variety of music. Some hard, some soft, believe it or not, some very Irish.
I also think more use has been made of Marco's vocals than in the past couple of albums, both in songs wit Anette, and one practically by himself. which is good IMO. (Loved "While Your Lips Are Still Red)

Definately gets a thumbs up from me.

Also, 'While Your Lips Are Still Red' had nothing to do with Anette, it was just Tuomas, Jukka, and Marco. Also, Bye Bye Beautiful is another from the album with an official music video (Search Youtube yourselves).

I don't even listen to the disc with her vocals, the instrumentals are great. Her voice makes it seem like a strangled cat was caught in the janitors closet at the recording studio.

Sounds like a band trying to sound like Nightwish. I don't particularly care for it, but then again my interest in Nightwish has waned since I first heard them about 3 years ago.
