my mother is looking to buy a new phone switching from her Lumia 920.

most important is the camera, otherwise she use it for streaming and surfing.
the ones we're currently considering are:

Lg g6
Oneplus 5t
Samsung s7 edge
Huawei p10

what would you advice her to buy?

she doesn't want to buy a new flagship phone as they are too expensive.

Both my wife and I have the S7 Edge, and really like it.

After being burnt by LG too many times (recently it was the G5 bootloop problem), I would personally not be very likely to use them for some time (if ever).

GF has the G6 and I have the V20. Both love our phones but hers is a more sleek form factor. I really like her G6 though. Never had any sort of technical issues with either one.

Would be better if you could clarify your budget. The unlocked S8 was going for $574 over the weekend which I'd get over the Oneplus 5T at $500 if the camera is your priority.

If you're looking to spend considerably less, then there were some deals for the LG G6 that were between $300-400 based on carrier promotions, or else a mint G6 can be found on swappa for low $300s.

Would not get the S7 Edge as it's 1.5 years old, the battery life on this year's phones are much better, and you'll get a year less of updates (compared to the S8).

Regardless I'd say set up deal alerts at your preferred deal site for these phones and wait for a great offer over the next several weeks.

5T really should not be on the list if camera is a priority. The other 3 are considerably better cameras unless you only look at pictures on your phone.

I'm living in Denmark, so the prices are not the same as US.

the max price is 4000dkk, the s8 is 4500dkk, the s7, s7 edge ang lg g6 are all around 3000-3300. The OnePlus 5t is 3700.

but now also considering the sony xz premium at 4100.

if you care most about the camera. get the s7. Honestly I think an s6 would be better than the one touch camera wise

I switched my mom to Moto X Pure Edition from Lumia 920 (and being burnt by lack of updates by Motorola/Lenovo), I would definitely say get a Pixel or Pixel XL at least for the consistent updates, especially when they don't upgrade phones too often.

Of those: LG G6.

The OnePlus 5T's cameras are fairly mediocre, and getting support for it is not going to be fun if your mom isn't patient. The Huawei software might drive her up the wall. And Samsung? The S7 Edge was a great phone when new, but it's a year and a half old; Samsung will probably abandon software updates for it after Oreo (assuming it even goes that far).

The G6 isn't flawless, but it has a great screen, good cameras (not necessarily S7 Edge good, but very good), the promise of longer software support and better options for tech support than OnePlus.

I'm in the same boat- need to replace my Nokia Icon which does have a great camera. I'm leaning toward a used G6 but also looking at a moto G5S plus, which has a decent camera. Some review sites say it is a good camera and others say just average. They are cheap and unlocked with a warranty from Amazon.

My mother went to the store were she tried the nokia 8, S8, and sony xz premium, and decided that she liked the ergonomics of the sony the best and went with that.

Thanks for the help.
