I downloaded the Win9X version, it decreased my 3dMark score by around 200 points from 479 to 258...... this was on a K6-2 300 with a GF2 MX200 though

My 3dMark2001 scores went up from 10.800 to 11,070. That's in WinXP.

I downloaded these drivers yesterday and while trying to update the driver I had couple of "missing files" messages. I chose an option to ignore it but after installation finished it still shows that I have 28.32 as my drivers. This was on my XP system with Ti200. (and yes, I was installing XP-2000 version)
After that I uninstalled 28.32, rebooted and tried a clean install (over the default VGA driver) The same thing happened so I had to install 28.32 again.

Would these drivers make any difference with an GeForce 2MX PCI card or are they GF3/GF4 optimized?

Hmm, the way I did it, and was supposed to do it whenever installing new drivers, is to remove the old drivers, reboot, and when it asks for which drivers to install, point it to the directory where you unzipped the 28.90 drivers and they install automatically.
