I really wonder if it better for the 7000 series than the 15x.xx beta drivers in any way.

I'm missing the new control panel also - just got the old "classic" version (even though it says that the new control panel is included).

Not only that but it doesn't look like the profiles have been updated for new releases (e.g. LOTRO)

Hey guys after some more extensive testing it doesn't appear that Hardware Acceleration of x.264 video files is doing much at all. I"m using Nero Showtime so this may be the problem. I think I would need PowerDVD or WinDVD to actually take advantage of the new PureVideo enhancements.

My CPU is a E4300@3Ghz. I can handle any 1080P file in software mode anyways. I see modest improvements in CPU usage, maybe 5-10% lower with hardware acceleration enabled in Showtime. Maybe someone with the latest version of PowerDVD could chime in?

But they're no longer in the driver recommendation if you select 7 series under WinXP/2000, so that means there is either an issue with them or they will fix the link again shortly. I'll wait and see before I upgrade.

They finally release a driver after 6 months than pull it from the site :|

Well that's good to know. I can confirm that x264 cannot be accelerated by CyberLink decoder either so I suppose we can assume the encoder fails to comply with the AVC standard.

Last I checked the Nero decoder was significantly worse than CyberLink and limited to use within ShowTime as well.

Oddly enough, if you use the new BETA download site, it links to the 94.24 release

Everything i've read says Pureview only works with processors that are SSE2 and higher. So regular 32bit Athlons can never benefit from Pureview is my understanding.

Wow...I downloaded these yesterday but just left it sitting on the desktop...b/c something didn't feel right.

"Such a long time b/t driver updates and no release notes?...something must be wrong" <--I said to myself.

Glad I didn't load'em up. Will keep an eye on the NVidia DL page though. Some new drivers for my 7900GTO would be nice, indeed. A few good games/patches have come out since the last major update (Nov 06?!). New drivers might get a few more FPS out of'em.
