Haha, I was one of those Novi, MI visitors looking for a Palm. They were kinda annoyed about the whole thing....(despite their inventory having 3 left).

I got lucky and got the last FOUR (4) yep 4 at the Burton Michigan target yesterday nite at 8:30 pm for $219 each. I went back today this evening and he says the computer shows em at $99 but the register is $219 and they cant give me a refund till it comes on the register?! I was like well which one is right.. and they told me the register. I went to both Flint OM too and they both said the same thing.. so NEO will the registers change SOON! I am not worried since I can always take em back.. with reciepts.. I also got a seperate receipt for each one.. in case they pull that one per customer BS!

Just got back from a one hour trip to pick up the last two in Alabama for 99.00. My conclusion is that it is best to goto the store first! DO NOT call and ask b/c I can guarntee you that once the clerk sees that price game over! It has happned to me time and time again. So thats why I drove for a hour to the store. I did not call. I called probably ten stores today looking for this deal and had two clerks tell me, "yes it is stock, oh it is 99.00, sorry we are out." So make up your own mind. Neo thx for a good deal@!

Govnah- That makes a lot of sense to just drive to the store and hope it's there rather than alerting the employees (some who aren't on top of things) to the hot deal at hand. The thing is.. with certain items like the PDA's, they usually keep the boxes in the back.. so how can you be sure they'll go in and grab the box for you? They could just stash it temporarily and come out saying they have none in stock, right?

True about the employees possibly getting the last ones after receiving the call and checking stock/price..

I called the OMX in Sacramento (supposed to have 2 according to Neo's post) So I called them early this morning a little after 9:00am...the gal on the phone tells me they have 2 in-stock...she tells me that she'll have to check stock in the back and for me to hold.. 5 min later she tells me that the manager is checking the warehouse....a minute later the manager gets on the line and says none in stock.

I think you guys gotta stop relying on human nature , which is obviously flawed , and just go to the stores. If it's a long drive , then you'll feel that much better if they actually have what you want. Try to make an afternoon of it. I personally avoid calling for stock , cause I'm convinced that store clerks and managers especially (since they're the ones with the money) will take an item if it's 'too good to be true'. The day other people realize this is the day they start being a lot happier with everything they've got or get.

For $99.00 and you did not get it? You could still buy it, wait a day or so until the price changes at that store, and get your credit. Or PM the store location for me and I will get it transferred to the store by me. They will sell it for $79.00.

Fixed my problem. FYI if anyone else has the same problem...just pull the batteries and soft reset twice, put batteries back in, and wait three minutes and all should be well in the world!

I found the Palm VII on OD website listed at 49.88 and I printed it out and took it to staples to attempt to PM, if you do not login to the OD website it will show it in stock. Well at 2 different Staples, and trying staples via the phone no luck what so ever the manangers were reluctant and said that they could not take $200 off the price. Also they are discontinuing it the manager said. so here is a link to the website and if anyone is successful in getting more then one please PM and I will buy the other one. also it might not show up when you first put in but just refresh and it will show up.

My gosh.. I am having a difficult time trying to log out of the Office Depot website. ARGH! Is there an easy way to delete my old info? I tried erasing my cookies, deleting temp files and links...

Update- Just in case someone is as thick as me, I had auto-login selected under My Account/User prefs. I had to deselect it and update my info.. now the log off button shows up. *blush*

After checking out that link or attempting to browse Office Depot without logging in, it doesn't let you look at stuff unless you are logged on OR enter a zip code for availability. Do you have a zip code where it still says it is available.. because I am going to have a hard time just entering random ones before I find one in which Palm 7's are still around.
