Buddhist - whoa I must've REALLY read that wrong. Cool though.. then at least we're in the same state. (I'm in SoCal) Hmm.. there's just the matter of wondering if it is in stock or not because I have a feeling that will be the deciding factor. I think I know a Staples that still has a Palm Vii lying around but I want to approach this correctly so some employee doesn't snatch it up. Haha.. maybe I can use that discrepancy in the OMX computer to my advantage.. according to their "system", they still had 6 Palm VII's at a store in Huntington Beach when they physically had nothing.. but if I had just called and didn't ask to check physically, they would've said it was in stock.. so that could work to my advantage.. (crafty giggle)

Since this is a new unit, I would try two things . . . first give the unit a little time to charge the internal capacitor ( this is the way the Palm maintains a backup when changing batteries ) and the second option to try is do a HARD reset of the Palm. In the manual it will show you where the hole is in the back of the unit. Sometimes a unit needs a little help to get started.

I drove an hour to the Lima, OH store they told me they hadn't had it for a while. So I came home and called the Chilacothe, OH store. I didn't really want to call but I didn't want to drive another hour and half and come up empty. They say they have three. I drive down there they actually have 2 and one is display model missing pc shoe the other is on hold. Apparently TyCo gets that one. Guy says do you want me to go back and look again. I said since I drove an hour and a half I would appreciate it.

Anyhow he ended up digging up all of the parts for the display model and I buy it for $99.

I GOT ONE, I GOT ONE (palm).
I thought Michigan is all out (spent sat calling OM's), but i tried again. This time i was askign about display models. GUESS WHAT: I found one on my second try, it was in Warren,
the store on hoover road. I got there 10mins before the closed (Sunday) and got it for $95 with tax (got even 10 buck off for display model). They won't let me pricematch, i'll try different store tomorrow. My ultimate goal is the get it 110% pricematched.

Advice for all of you, ask for DISPLAY MODEL. I think the whole country is out of new ones, but there gota be tons of em in B&M stores. (i think they dont show up on computer either)

Oh, i was wondering, is there any alternative to palm wireless service?

I called about 7 different Office Maxes around the Sacramento area and could not find the 27.3gb hard drive. I have one that I purchased a while back but I would like another to put in a raid setup. Just an update on my 4 Palm VII's I snagged at OM Friday and Saturday every manager gave me @!^%@ not to give me the refund that showed on main computer.. well Sunday (today) they gave me nothing but a smile and approx $500 back on the(4 x $127) back Thanks NEO!!! YOU DA MAN!!

Allright, this sucks.
Now i dont know what to sell palm vii or cassiopeia e-100.
Cassiopeia is nice, has multimedia and all. Palm is lighter and has wireless internet. i make 70 on cassiopeia or around 150 on palm. But if i sell casio, i have no mp3 player. If i sell palm, i don't have wireless internet.

I got in on the 15" LCD form OM (still working great)and now the $99 Palm VII. I just wish I would had picked up more (I could have at the time) for my friends. NeoV....you rock buddy. You ever started a thread on the HD forum that was short? Keep it up.

I will update locations on them first thing tomorrow morning, although I will be in meetings until 10am.....

As I mentioned in the initial post, there are some other good items that were marked down as well...I will list more of them too...

You can't really blame store employees for trying to get in on good deals when they weren't previously aware of the price changes...think of how one of us deal mongers would feel!

The LCD monitors were $299, and many got display models for 279 or less! I didn't even get one!

No, the LCD deal is over. It was a closeout on 15 inch Proview's. That deal was the perfect example of going to the store to check, because if you called, the employees would discover the price and snap them up.
