How much does the Palm VII internet service cost? Also, is the Officemax Palm a VII or VIIx?

Solarbeat- Hey.. I guess someone already mentioned, but the numbers in the computer and physical stock doesn't always match up. I visited Huntington Beach and the asst. manager said they had none in physical stock even though the computer says 6 (haha.. that number looks familiar, no?) Anyway, he called Garden Grove.. the ones at Garden Grove were "ordered and shipped to the Tustin location".. so whatever early-bird (no offense heh) who called up Garden Grove got a few Palms there.. I guess they didn't feel like driving up to Garden Grove for the inconvenience! (lazy butt =P). Looks like OC ran out hmm.. start trying LA ones? I'm wondering if you can just call anywhere and if they have them in stock, you can ask them to ship it to the nearest Office Max.. that makes things easier..
--Update: Hmm.. funny, I just called the OMX in Orange on a whim and the manager said to call Tustin because they had a ton of them they were trying to get rid of. When I called Tustin, the lady I got transferred to would only say they had the VIIx.. she was very blunt in telling me they had no Palm VII's.. strange. I guess someone else has been bugging them about it.. haha.

Goldentiger- it's the Palm 7.. not the 7x.. that you want to try and find at OfficeMax.

--Update: Haha.. calling up the Pomona store, the guys asks if I have called before.. I must be getting slow here.

Any chance you can check the 77 Spiral Drive Florence, KY store? I did not see it on your list so I am assuming that means they do not have any listed in the system.

They are out in my area I checked the Los Angeles one (Venice and Robertson) they called the Downey and Lakewood ones for me and no luck there either

New Britain, CT store is listed as having one, but I scored what was supposedly the last one at that store about a month or two ago when they were $219. The manager even said, "Wow, I wish we had another one because I'd buy it." I suppose someone could have returned one...

I guess my point is, don't get your hopes up as the inventory in the computer system is frequently incorrect. I'll be checking a couple of stores tomorrow morning though!

I went to the Tallahassee FL OMX store and they had several tables with clearance items on it. An orange sticker showed the markdowns. The only thing that caught my eye was the Iomega 8X4X32. A sticker on it said "Laser won't work" and it was missing the manual and cdr's. Markdown from $179 to $25. I took a chance and bought it since I had 14 days to return it. It rang up at $139 and a manager had to do the price adjustment. I got home and uplugged my Plextor 12X, plugged the Iomega in and it worked. It read cd's fine, burned to a CDRW and made a music cd with Nero without any problems. I got a good deal but it aint no Plextor. Now I'm going to try my luck at the $30 rebate.
Check your stores for clearance tables, you might be able to catch something before it's gone.

My local OMX had one in stock (demo unit in box)...the price was $219.
Bought it! Man, I sure hope the cost is lowered tomorrow..so I can get a partial refund.

Or else I will be returning it ASAP....

Hey all....I assure you the Palm price will be dropping today....if our system that sends prices down to the stores crashes tonight ( as we speak ) the stores would get the price later in the day, no later than Sunday...but I am not aware of any problems right now, so the stores should have the new price first thing this morning....Omx just added Handspring visors to our stores, so we are trying to cut down the total number of PDA's we have in stock...

On the DVD kit, it appears I made a mistake on the DVD decoder card....I know the 5x kits came with a Hollywood+ card, but it appears the 8X kits do not....Sorry if I screwed someone up on that...

I do not have access to stores listings from home...I may stop at work once or twice tomorrow and try to post store lists for the Hard drive and DVD kit, but if not I will for sure on Monday.

As for the lack of accuracy of our on-hands inventory system...we switched to a new 'retail' system on July 24th, and we are still going through some bumps in the road....older items are not a priority, but I am surprised at the number of supposed "don't have's" that the stores are saying on the Palms......

Went to my local OMX store after work. Arghh!!!! They did not have any of the PalmV11. The salesman was surprised why a lot of people were calling abt the availability of this Palm model. LOL

Wow! Actually got one (display model). Only glitch is that it is still (as of 10EST) at $219. Still $219 when I call the central number.

Here's hoping it comes down to $99, and the closer store lets me PM without actually having

Can you belive this BS. Went to the local OM here in Mobile, Al. They had three I asked for two and when they rang up as 99.00 a piece the manger refused to sell them to me for that price. Said, "problem w/ the computers this morning." I argued w/ her w/ no luck! I'm so F$%$ing pissed!
