I bought the HP 10X CD-RWs (manufacturers number C7981A, or UPC code 0725184400964), which Onvia has for $3.81 apiece. I know, cold deal, but at least in stock. After coupons, I got 7 of 'em for about $11-12.

For all of you who ordered the MSI K7T Pro motherboard for $90 w/ the $20 coupon, on the website it stated as being "In Stock", but after the coupon craze, it showed up as being "Out of Stock"... I just got off the fone with the CSR, and basically his explaination to me was...

"We were expecting to receive them sometime early December, so we put the item available on the website, but, our suppliers never came through and now we're expecting the next shipment in late January."

So I said: "Basically, you guys were taking pre-orders for the items, just like you do for most of all your other items that I was led to believe were in stock? I already had the Antec case I ordered cancelled, so, what you are doing is basically giving me a reason to give you my credit card information, and my personal information, for your personal enjoyment?"

"Well, there's nothing we can do about."

Me: "So, this order is cancelled?"

"Sorry, thanks for shopping at Onvia.com"

Sure hope alla you guys get your stuff... I ordered a pIII 800 flip chip like at 2 oclock on tuesday... still in process... and i'm worried now... If you call thier 1-800 number an automated message says that orders can take anywhere'sfrom 1-5 days to process. Would this amount of time be a buffer zone for canceling orders? any others getting thier packages?

Honestly, the way I see it, is if the status of your order is still "In Process" by today, then chances are you won't get your order.. Try calling them, they'll most likely tell you the same.. I think that's f*cked up... Because for those that did order it, if they were close enough to a warehouse that had them in stock, they get priority over anyone else.. That's it.. Onvia's business ethics suck, but their prices are decent, that's the only reason why I would ever shop with them...

BTW, does anyone know how long it takes before Onvia charges your credit card? Because, they goofed up my initial order of the 45gb Deskstar HD, which I purchased on the 8th of Dec, somehow it got lost or stuck in a warehouse in UPS somewhere in NJ, so a week later, I called requesting them to send me another one, so they sent me one Fedex Next Day Air, and surprisingly, both HDs came on the same day.... but they still ahven't charged my CC, it's been about 5 days since i've received them.. Does anyone know? or am I just lucky?

12/22 - I just got my tracking #. My 12/20 order was shipped out on 12/21 and I'll have it today. I probably wouldn't worry if it still says in process.

Nearly all of my orders have shipped, however I received an e-mail stating that the Samsung 17" 753DF Dynaflar monitor that I ordered that would have been $130 after rebate was "discontinued" and would therefore be cancelled. This despite the fact that it still lists as being "In Stock". So I then picked up 2 of the 17" $50 Pixie monitors at Staples, which ended up being $30 less than the one Samsung would have been.

For those of you who arent familiar with onvia, they dont actually operate warehouses, they ship from other resellers. So managing the "In Stock" or "Out of stock" system is hard for them, and so is tracking. You'll notice they use many different points, and often they still have an item listed as "in process" when its arrived at my door already. They often break up multiple item orders too, for example when I ordered some hardware, everything but a floppy drive was shipped from NY, my state, the next day but the floppy was shipped from Florida a few days latter. It's unusual, but dont count them out if you still see "in process", because items I ordered weeks ago, and received weeks ago, are still listed as "in process".

I ordered a Teac floppy drive and a roll of tape for a little over $15 3 days ago. I used the $10 off $15 code before it was killed. I just got the tape in a box by itself. Cool deal if I get the drive for $5.

No one should have any problems getting what they ordered. Onvia is very good at shipping things out quickly and being accurate with the stock status of their products.

Well I have no problem with an item that was OOS when I ordered it suddenly being IN stock and on its way to me. But I DO have a problem with an item that was IN stock when I ordered it now being OOS and the order is now hung "in process." If an item was represented to me as IN STOCK, so I ordered one, they should have one for me, yes?

Well, I ordered the Elsa Gladiac from Onvia on Wednesday around 11a.m. or so and I got my card in one day. It might be due to the fact I live in Dallas and there is a suburb(Carrollton) has a distribution center for one of the big suppliers of computer parts.
