we dont need other countries to help us - thats a benefit of being the most powerful country in th world

thailand and the other countries affected by the tsunami couldnt do sht without help from the rest of the world, which i assume you are alluding to

Ok, so we can handle the relief efforts ourself. BUT...where are all the pansy left-wing nutjobs now? They are quick to criticize the US when it takes us more than 2 hours to send relief to the tsunami victims, yet they are strangely quiet now with regards to the gulf coast disaster.
The "pansy -Left wing nutjobs" are your neighbors, friends and fam ily. They are doing something about it, to wit fillin' sand bags, staffing food lines, helping the Red Cross, etc. etc. What are YOU doing besides hatin' on your fellow countrymen?

Foolish Child.

That's not what I'm talking about. You're too stupid to understand I guess. I'm talking about all the liberal talking heads that hate America and the President. The one's that criticize about the tsunami but say nothing now about this disaster.

So are you on the front lines helping the hurricane victims? Answer me now.

If it keeps on rainin' levee's goin' to break
If it keeps on rainin' levee's goin' to break
When The Levee Breaks I'll have no place to stay.
Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan
Lord mean old levee taught me to weep and moan
Got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home
Oh well oh well oh well.
Don't it make you feel bad
When you're tryin' to find your way home
You don't know which way to go?
If you're goin' down South
They go no work to do,
If you don't know about Chicago.
Cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good,
Now, cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good,
When the levee breaks, mama, you got to move.
All last night sat on the levee and moaned,
All last night sat on the levee and moaned,
Thinkin' 'bout me baby and my happy home.
Going, go'n' to Chicago,
Go'n' to Chicago,
Sorry but I can't take you.
Going down, going down now, going down

Might be hard to do without the US existing in the condition it does now due to your actions causing there to be no southernmost port ON THE BIGGEST RIVER IN THE US.

The levies broke? Good, last thing people down there need to worry about are tax levies.

They should just rebuild it as an underwater city, like Atlantis. Or rebuild it partially below water like Venice. That would be really cool.

80% of the city is flooded.

it might just be cheaper to build a new city (at higher ground) nearby?

you'll be tapping awhile, on a side note, the united states now has another lake to fish in.
I think they all chipped in during the office pools for 9/11. Then, they watched as all the victims families sued to get a bigger share of the millions and millions of dollars. Then, they watched as we went to war. Understanding weather patterns and realizing that the low pressure systems originate off the coast of Africa, I think they're just waiting for our president to go after those African countries that were harboring the low pressure systems and sent them our way.

LOL, and you think the U.S. will let forgein help workers set foot in the U.S. soil? Or do you think they will accept forgein "monetary" aid without any string attached from those countries?

The United States loves its foreign workers. Hell, we're trying to replace all the Americans with illegal immigrants, H1-Bs, and L-1s. Its GOOD for America.

Because 230,000 deaths is the same as 100 right?

Even poor countries like India helped in the Tsunami it was a global effort for a disaster on a global scale.

5 to 10 feet below sea level? Why not just screen out sediments from the Mississippi and slowly start filling in their pothole of a city? Might take 50-100 years, but then again, how often are direct hits expected?

Heard on the news this morning that they estimate it will take years to rebuild the area, doesn't that cause a problem though since, like mentioned before, the area gets hit by Hurricanes seemingly every year, so whatever effort they make to rebuild from now til next year might be blown away next year by another hurricane. Just a thought, not trying to be a jerk but it doesn't make sense. Thoughts?

Not just that. We help everybody everywhere all of the time. We are constantly bailing someone's ass out. Something like this happens to the US and what do we get?

Comparing the tsunami with the "gulf coast disaster" is sick.

predict lots and LOTS of mold damage.

if you got mold, might as well tear down and rebuild. you wont be able to sell the house cause no insurance is going to give the buyer homeowners insurance. the abusive claims from mold is astranomical.

Perhaps you missed that he was being sarcastic. The point is we don't need help, so their not going to waste their money on us when it can be put to better use somewhere else.
