Even Battlefield 1, which I expected to be really demanding, turned out to be more of DICE's awesome stuff. The alpha performing almost as well as BF4, while being the best looking PC game to date. I think outside of 4K or VR, there is no need for two of these upcoming Titan X. Even a 144hz 1440p monitor will be covered by just one of these cards.
Something tells me Nvidia knows this, thus why they are trying to get more per card while they can. Even my 980 Ti with OC covers about 95% of my games. Why I haven't just bought a GTX 1080 FE and slapped my Hybrid cooler on it (since I know it works).
The consoles launched behind the curve. They weren't going to push us forward. Neo/Scorpio will change that, but I personally think it will just bring the consoles to where PCs were when the original PS4/Xbone launched. So we're already stagnating again. DX12 has a lot of teething issues and I'm with Futuremark - time it's sorted out and used abundantly, it will be mid/late 2017 if not 2018 and Pascal/Polaris/Vega will be relics.
