New Pascal Titan X!

Is it just me or does the buy it now button not work on nvidias website? Doesnt seem to work on my cell phone or 2 different pcs.

It doesn't work from the promotional page, but if you go directly to their store site, you can do it there

Think its only you thats talking about the GP100 here.. My bet is that we will never see it(gp100) on a consumer based gfx card.

GP100 won't ever make it out as a consumer product, GP102 is a much better suited chip for the task.

Funny that PCWorld got samples when other more enthusiast-level publications did not. Pretty clear Nvidia is aiming for the pre-built buyer audience, where the cost is hidden in the total system price.

Assuming that is true, you are still looking at a much larger die in GP100 plus expensive HBM, but not really any more gaming performance, at least from what we know and can infer. We are confident that the two dies have the same number of FP32 ALUs. Now, we do not know (as far as I am aware) what kind of fixed function graphics hardware (TMUs, ROPs) the GP100 has. However, given its primary purpose as an HPC chip, I strongly doubt that the GP100 has any advantage over GP102 in this area.

So, without the promise of more clock speed or ALUs, the only advantage from a gaming perspective that GP100 has over GP102 is HBM2. For that to significantly matter in gaming, you would have to assume that GP102 is horrendously bandwidth starved even with GDDR5X on a 384-bit bus. I really doubt that.

So, again, from strictly a gaming perspective, I fail to see how Nvidia with the GP100 is going to set the bar for performance much higher than a fully functional GP102. Which brings me back to my original perplexity over Nvidia's (lack of) marketing of this chip. I do not believe we'll see a GP100 consumer chip, it just doesn't get Nvidia anything in the gaming sector. So, I think the best we'll see of the Pascal generation is a fully enabled GP102, which is not going to be much better than the cripped GP102 in Titan XP. It seems far-fetched to think Nvidia is going to offer in just a few short months an even more titan Titan (the Titanest of them all) which may offer, what, 15 or 20% more performance tops, at, what, $1500?

HBM2 will have significant power savings over GDDR5X (maybe 20ish watts) allowing a full chip to clock at the same speed as the current Titan X. That alongside bandwidth gains will probably give around 10-15% more perf. So thats what Nvidia is holding on reserve.

It's pretty clear that nVidia is maximizing profit by removing the aib middle men. It all started with the FE inflated prices. It was obvious from a mile away. nVidia doesn't need positive reviews in order to deplete all their titan x planned stock.

Bringing Vega into the discussion is rather childish. AMD abandoned / gave up this game.

I wonder how many forum colleagues are actually being part of a business since they can't figure out something this ordinary.

No offense, but that is a terrible review not worth the click. They are advertising a pre-built PC for much of the article which is some slim box with the two in SLI and overclocking disabled, comparing the two titan xs against liquid cooled 1080s in SLI.

I'm waiting for more mature reviews, but I have two in my basket on Nvidia's german site...

And that's exactly why I have two sitting in the basket and not purchased them yet. The two I buy will be heavily overclocked under water and I'm also wondering if I should wait for aftermarket versions anyway, sigh.

Vega is a pipe dream. If you look at transistor density and die size the RX480 should be a lot closer to the GTX 1070. Unless Vega is a 500mm sized die with a 350W TDP I dont see how its a competitor to GP102. At best itll be as fast or slightly faster than a GTX 1080.

I suspect that the production of HBM2 has slowed the release.

Nevertheless, the new Titan X takes the single card crown today.

The GTX 1080 only held it @ 2 months.

If only they would sell it via usual channels, not just their stupid website, i would perhaps get one, cause i could have it without VAT, as i would buy it on the company where i work... would use it mostly for work anyway...

There is a chance Vega is produced by TSMC on the 16nm FinFET node,but worstcase even with 350w it should be no problem for a AIO watercooler like the one Fury X shipped with.

If you want all that heat in your house is a other matter, but for me its okay since i live very close to 70 degrees north
