It better be thermonuclear in terms of gaming, since in terms of pricing it's the equivalent of mutual assured destruction. From the review..."However, in terms of gaming theres plenty to talk about since this thing isnt a barn burner in terms of achievable framerates, its a fully-fledged thermonuclear attack."
this is a lot better than gtx 1080.
i think gtx 1080 is the worst buy in the last years
This card is nearly 2x the price of 1080. In terms of FPS/$, new Titan X is worse than 1080 by a lot. Not sure why you'd diss 1080 because of Titan X.
If that metric means nothing then the 1080 was not a bad product either, so any way you cut it Arachnotronic's point stands: there's no reason to diss 1080 because of Titan X.Only if that metric means anything to you.
This card is pretty impressive. Imagine if they'd done the right thing and released this first as the GTX1080/Ti for $720. It could have been the best card since the 8800GTX.
Well, that's not going to happen. If anything they could have charged more than $1199 and gotten away with it. If you believe the rumors the 1080 Ti (if they bother to release it) will be $899; but I would think it would be a further cut down GP102, and probably 320-bit.
nah it will simply depend on Vega (price & performance) and nothing morePersonally i think it will have either 3072 or 3200 CCs. Depends on where they want to place it relatively to 1080 and Titan X performance-wise. I think 3200 is more likely.

IMO, performance per dollar metric should be totally ignored in this particular market segment. Relax, take it easy.LOL $1800 for a card thats 20% faster wtf! I hope AMD releases a card soon that beats this Titan for $500

Yea that would be in a perfect world scenario. We all know these prices are too good to be true.Imagine a lineup of $649 GTX1080Ti, $399 GTX1080, $299 GTX1070 and $199 GTX1060.. something similar to the old school GPU pricing.

Yup this is why they are what they are now. Is there any confirmation that Vega will be out I. October or still March 2017?If AMD released high end cards instead of low- to mid-range cards first, we might have better pricing for the 1080 and 1070. Maybe in a few months things will be more affordable.
A few months? We have over 4 months left in 2016 alone with no sign of any Vega until 2017, Q1? OUCH!If AMD released high end cards instead of low- to mid-range cards first, we might have better pricing for the 1080 and 1070. Maybe in a few months things will be more affordable.
