profit margins will be between slim and newegg.

unless you're giving away free iPods.

Do you think you can undercut amazon and/or newegg? If not, how would you justify your higher prices, especially given that your customer base would likely be somewhat proficient in computers and thus not ignorant to the fact that they could get stuff cheaper elsewhere. Computer are so cheap now that if people decide it's even worth having them over tablets and/or phones, they'll just throw them away and get another one when they break.

Assuming you're in the US I can say this is a risky idea. I have some experience selling for a large VAR and margin's on PC's and accessories and tablets is very poor. To win against Amazon, new egg or tiger direct I used to sell at 2 or 3% margin. Even then it usually came down to payment terms so about 30% of the time I'd win.
Lets say you want to make 50k, you will need to have around 1 to 2 million worth of inventory shipped per year. Assuming you have access to that much credit a smarter move is to buy, fix and sell real-estate since you can compete locally.

Well Faridabad is a big city so i'd imagine there would be a fair demand for computer parts. have you considered moving to Gurgaon and setting up shop there? You may find more demand there because of the local engineering industry and all the engineers coming there from all over India.

Just a thought.

get adobe (any design sw) and make some pdf leaflets

"super compute0rz power!" $$$ only 399.00

spam them; find customer.

buy parts. assemble, add markup. deliver.

charge extra for maintenance.

You dont have to do a PC-only store. You could do a combo of an computer store plus electronics shop plus mobile store plus internet cafe plus photocopier plus place-to-sell-mobile-recharge-coupons. That would be much better in my opinion. Just use your imagination.

The only reason i suggested Gurgaon because the demand would be higher there(presumably). Faridabad should be fine too, as long as you make sure you aren't as dumb as 90% of computer-shop owners in India and are actually knowledgeable about the things you're selling.

How do you plan to finance this project?

The person you pay rent to will make the profit, you will slowly lose your investment.

Many larger vendors will be able to sell items cheaper than you will be able to buy them.

To OP.

Now you have listed a laptop for 40,000 rupees, which is $660ish US dollar. Without any information on the brand, model, and whole sale price, it is hard to come up with profit margin. You could be making 50% profit if you can get it for $500 and then resell for $750. But only if no one else around you is selling that same laptop for less. You should do research yourself. Check the stores in the area and compare their prices, then see if you can find out the cost of the laptop if you get it directly from the maker (HP/Samsung), or through a middleman.
