This PC is for gaming. I intend to play League of Legends, Hearthstone, Yooka-Laylee, A Hat In Time, and Dolphin. I play at a resolution of 1600x900.
I have a £1000 budget. I am buying in the UK. I'd prefer to buy from the major stores than to save money at someone I haven't dealt with before.
- The H110 motherboards are much cheaper than Z170 boards (so I've chosen them) but all the PC building sites recommend the Z170. I don't intend to overclock so is that OK? Does it have an effect on noise or temperature?
- I don't intend to overclock. Is the stock cooler OK? Would I achieve significantly less noise during idle and gaming uses with an aftermarket cooler?
- From what I understand, AMD cards dissipate more heat and are louder at the same performance level. If this isn't noticeable in real use let me know and I could consider RX cards.
- Is 16GB RAM actually necessary?
- Is the Samsung SSD noticeably faster in real world use than for example cheaper Kingston UV400 SSDs?
- I plan to build next month. I could wait until Kaby Lake but I'm not sure 4 months for ~200MHz is worth it. Do you think the above will go down in price significantly, or else there's a new product that's worth waiting until Q1 '17 for?
