Hi, does the below build look ok? I also have some questions below.

PCPartPicker part list

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor (£199.98 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: Asus H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£59.99 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory (£67.98 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£78.99 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Toshiba 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£59.99 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Mini Video Card (£234.98 @ Scan.co.uk)
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case (£58.99 @ Amazon UK)
Power Supply: EVGA 430W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply (£35.76 @ Amazon UK)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-14 DVD/CD Writer (£12.02 @ Amazon UK)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit (£86.99 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Total: £895.67

This PC is for gaming. I intend to play League of Legends, Hearthstone, Yooka-Laylee, A Hat In Time, and Dolphin. I play at a resolution of 1600x900.

I have a £1000 budget. I am buying in the UK. I'd prefer to buy from the major stores than to save money at someone I haven't dealt with before.

- The H110 motherboards are much cheaper than Z170 boards (so I've chosen them) but all the PC building sites recommend the Z170. I don't intend to overclock so is that OK? Does it have an effect on noise or temperature?

- I don't intend to overclock. Is the stock cooler OK? Would I achieve significantly less noise during idle and gaming uses with an aftermarket cooler?

- From what I understand, AMD cards dissipate more heat and are louder at the same performance level. If this isn't noticeable in real use let me know and I could consider RX cards.

- Is 16GB RAM actually necessary?

- Is the Samsung SSD noticeably faster in real world use than for example cheaper Kingston UV400 SSDs?

- I plan to build next month. I could wait until Kaby Lake but I'm not sure 4 months for ~200MHz is worth it. Do you think the above will go down in price significantly, or else there's a new product that's worth waiting until Q1 '17 for?

1. H110 vs h170: Get the h170

http://www.portvapes.co.uk/?id=Latest-exam-1Z0-876-Dumps&exid=threads/intel-h110-or-h170.2485313/

2. Stock cooler is fine. If you want a little cooler and quieter, you can get an inexpensive cooler like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO on sale.

3. GTX 1060 is a good choice, runs cooler, and is faster in most benchmarks so far.

4. 8 GB is enough right now, but more and more games have 8 GB of RAM as the minimum amount recommended. I'd get 16 GB and I would at least get DDR4 2666 - DDR4 3000 because there is little price difference. Make sure the RAM you select is either on your motherboard manufacturer's QVL, or is certified to work with your board by the RAM manufacturer by using their website 'RAM finder' tools.

5. The 850 is the fastest 'budget' SSD, but you would not be able to see a real-world difference in day-to-day use. That said, the 850 EVO, PNY CS2211, or Sandisk X400 are good choices which balance of speed/warranty. There are other choices as well, but those three are good choices.

6. Something "better" is always around the corner. If you need a new PC, build it and enjoy it. There has not been a big increase in CPU performance from one generation to the next in a long time (Sandy Bridge).

Thanks for the other answers, very helpful.

Due to some unique circumstances, I only have a choice between H110 and Z170. The Z170 option is £100 more. What are the problems with H110?
The H110 is crippled. Get a B150 or H170 board instead. Your will be happier.

What is actually crippled and how does it affect performance? I've read the spec sheet - seems like it supports the RAM, SSD, single GPU and single monitor just fine.

These are the differences between all the different LGA1151 chipsets:

At the low-end of the 100 series spectrum is the other H series chipset, the H110, which is further stripped down from the Z170. It lacks support for RST, Smart Response Technology, Smart Sound Technology, Small Business Advantage 4.0, RAID, overclocking, and multi-GPU configurations. It also loses more than half the USB 3.0 support of the Z170 chipset. The number of HSIO lanes available falls sharply, and their use is limited. Memory support is reduced as well, as only a single DIMM is permitted in each channel. Finally, the H110 is also the only chipset to lack PCI-E 3.0 support; instead it uses eight lanes of the older PCI-E 2.0 standard.

The H110 chipset doesn't offer much, but it still supports the Skylake CPU, DDR4 and a PCI-E 3.0 connection for a GPU. The H110 chipset will likely be used on the cheapest LGA 1151 motherboards, however, which will make it easier for consumers to upgrade to Skylake without needing to pay out quite as much.

If your 'unique circumstances' prevent you from getting a h170 motherboard, just make sure the board will have all the features that you need for the next 5 years or so. When you look at the differences in the above link, the biggest ones to pay attention to are the number of USB 3.0 ports, SATA 6Gb/s ports, PCI-e 2.0, and the DIMM limitation.

Also, if you do get a h110 motherboard, there is no need to buy anything over DDR4 2133.

I think that rig deserves a bit more love from a motherboard.
Personally I would use for those kind a specs a H170 and like I did, just bought a H170 Hyper to let me overclock the Non K CPUs

"more love" = ???

No one seems to want to say WHY the H170 is better. If I won't use all the PCIe lanes on an H110 and I'm not overclocking, what difference will I see? Is it just the higher number?

I linked to all the differences between the different chipsets, and even quoted Tom's Hardware explaining what market the h110 chipset is aimed at. In simple terms, the h110 goes into the cheapest boards. The h170, a couple of steps up, goes into higher-end boards which are generally built better, have better cooling, and usually have better audio.
