I've got OCZ Power Stream 420W PWS, A8V Deluxe, FX55, 2x 1GB RAM, Nvidia Video card. All I get is one beet immediately after I hit power button. No signal on my monitor. I've disconnected everything but Power switch & speaker.

All fans are runing (CPU, VGA)

Where can I find out what one beep means? What would be next troubleshooting step?

Please help me here. Thanks Charles

Try with only one stick of ram, and list some of what your parts are, be more specific. What type of ram, what video card.

Video card is getting power, I took it from old PC until I recieve new one.

I've tried to use on stick in different slots (#1, then #3 and #2 slot). with the same result. RAM is suppose to be RAM SAMSUNG/MICRON DDR400 I can't find any brand name on the stick itself.

A8V is rev. 2 with 1006 Bios ver. I guess that is what I think.

There is no molex on video card. It is older AGP Nvidia card. Fan on the video card is spinning. :-(

I am reading manual but I can't find it yet.

All asus says is that it has a voice report on the problem, that tells you specifics no beeps, is the beep long or just beep and stops?

The video card might be the problem, if it is a old card with a higher agp power need, your board only supports 1.5 volts

Unfortunately you need BIOS revision 1007 to support the A64 FX-55, according to Asus's CPU-support finder You might try the trick that has been working for others with that board: put one module in slot DIMM_B1, which is the third slot from the left, and if it will POST like that, then update your BIOS.

Good luck!

I've tried DIMM_B1 with no luck. It looks like mechBgon is right.

Is there any way to update bios without CPU?
