Below are the best prices I've seen thus far...

16GB at Amazon $250 ($299 MSRP)

8GB at Dell $170 ($200 MSRP)

4Gb at Dell $123 ($150 MSRP)

Cnet video review All kinds of formats, including DivX. I saw one at Fry's, where it is $299; very small and slick, intuitive controls, mini-USB port, beautiful big screen. About 1/2 the mass of the Vision W. Ok, I'll stop. Check one out for yourself though.

Creative's Flash Demo

Sweetener with that? $10 Amazon GC with $30 coinstar ecchange. Works with bills too!

Looking at the title I thought "Whats the use of a 16MB anything player?" but you meant 16GB.

The Sansa View seems to offer similar features at about the same size (and looks to be equally as slick) for $50 less. Screen is 0.1" smaller and I don't think has a microphone. Its not quite out yet either. I don't know about the battery life on the Creative player, but the Sansa is supposed to be very good so that might be a positive for it as well.

What's the attraction of watching movies on a 2.5" Screen? I guess catching up on the occasional tv show on the road or train (if you commute) might be ok? Otherwise I think I'd want at least a 4-5" Screen with decent resolution.

Anyway, bump because it's more feature packed than apple.

Appeal: I use the Sandisk Sansa for my NYC subway commute - very small screen, but I can plop it sideway in my shirt pocket and not be bothered by people constantly staring at the screen.

The new Sandisk has a Micro SD slot. I have an e280 now, and it's nice, but I'd like to use all the SD cards I have lying around. I think both products are equally nice though.

Seems like the new Zunes are superior in every way to this thing, including price, unless you must have DivX

New Zune: No SD slot, proprietary cable connector (no mini USB), only 8GB in the flash drive version, display is 1/2 inch smaller, no Outlook sync, etc.

Sure the Zune has a VERY limited Wi-Fi, but it's still not in the Sansa/Creative league.

Step away from the crack pipe...

I'm not saying this isn't nice, but I think the new Zunes have come a long way. I have a Zen Vision M now and this new Zen doesn't bring anything new to the table that interests me. The 80gb Zune is going to be the same price as this new Zen and 16gb doesn't come close to holding all my music.

I wouldn't call Wireless syncing "limited". It also has the ability to sync my Vista Media Center TV shows, integrates with my Xbox360, handles full DVD WMV resolutions and mpeg 4, h.264 (with no Transcoding like you need to do on the Zen) , bigger screen, better UI, glass screen. All of that is a lot more interesting to me than syncing with Outlook and with 80gb I don't need a SD slot. I'll admit I like that Creative has gone back to the mini USB like they had on the Zen micro (I have this one too), but even the Vision M used a proprietary connector and with cheap cables on Ebay it's not that bad. But with Wireless syncing, I don't care about the properitary cable so much on the new Zunes.

I wish the SD card data would be seamlessly integrated with the on-board flash memory. Now that would be amazing. I still like my Zen Vision: M though. It should last me many years. My Zen Micro was very nice until...it went through the wash.

I have the new Zen (4GB). The main reason I got it was because of the the SD card slot.

After using it a couple weeks, I wouldn't recommend you buy one right now because the firmware is VERY buggy. It crashes fairly often, so I actually had to tape a pin the back of the unit because the way to reset it is to stick a pin in a tiny hole in the side. The screen has a noticeable flicker to it. Also the way SD card is utilized is kinda of wonky. I would wait until a firmware update is released to see if these issues are fixed before recommeding anyone buy one.
