in my country GTX 970 ZOTAC had a price cut: 220 euro new (all tax included)
is there any chance for the RX 480 to beat it ?

Dude, you still undecided? Why ask, just wait for the reviews and you will know in ONE day.
You're gonna have to wait for official reviews.
But even at comparable performance, the newer stuff tends to age better. Go back to early 2012 to finds threads of discounted 570 vs 7850/7870. These cards were very comparable in 2012 - not anymore.
I would generally advise against buying the old. Until 490 and 1060 launch it would be best to either get a 480 or a 1070. Considering other older cards could leave you a sour taste in 2017 games with optimizations for the new and not the old.
yes, at the same price rx 480 is the best choice, but price can t be the same
with this cut,rx 480 is going to be more expensive (the opposite of what AMD said)
Nothing to cry about, as they have no control over economic conditions in your country, especially with the UK melting down.
Buy it or don't? Your choice.
GTX 580 used to be faster than a 7870:

Today?
370 is an overclocked 7850, 270X is an overclocked 7870:

Time is not kind to the old, especially if they have less VRAM.
For a ~1 year place holder sure, but what would you be waiting for since 1070 is here? Cheaper 1070/1080 after more AMD competition? The time for Nv 900 and AMD 300 series placeholders has ended, imo.

Dude where are u getting ur numbers from? RX 480 4GB should launch at $200 and 8Gb $230-250... not $300 like ursaying.... so uninformed!
Dont look at those pre-order prices... just wait another day or two and u get real prices.

That's the same for every other economy other than the US, except outside the US the Nvidia tax is magnified & multiplied. So in essence if you're paying 300$ or above, for a stock 480 with 4GB VRAM, you'll likely be paying at least 500$ for a 1070 with MSRP of $379. The price differential will only increase, everywhere outside of the US.US MSRP != EU prices for consumers including VAT and various fees
It seems unlikely that the 970 is 220 euro VAT included. Even in countries with a low VAT, wouldn't that be US$200 or less before tax?
so the UK exiting out of a socialistic 'union' that forced them to take in a lot of welfare leechers and pay for failed countries while not getting their fair share back is a melt-down?
wow. it's a wake-up with short term negatives and long term gains if anything. look up the facts about the EU.
They stopped making 970/80's a bit back, so it's absolute stock clearance time.
Which is of course as good an indication that the 1060 isn't miles off as you'll get!
(If it was 3 months away say, NV would counter it like this. Rather effective too you'd think as it seems very unlikely to be very far ahead.).
Vendors in Canada has already been listing RX 480's WAY beyond MSRP (1:1 considering exchange rate) but many has said the price is not final, what worries me is that they might be higher at release.Dude where are u getting ur numbers from?
