new Q6600 build

2. under $2000
3. USA
4. No brand preference but right now Intel and Nvidia seem to be the best choice
5. Only parts being reused are the monitor, speaker, keyboard, mouse
6. I've read similar threads
7. I hope to overclock the Q6600 to at least 3.2 possibly as high as 3.6

if this build will never have sli is the 620W still a good idea or should i save $40 and go with the 520W? also will either of these PSU's have any trouble with a P182?

is the 8800Ultra worth the extra $100? my friend will probably keep this rig for the next 3 years. if not are there any better 8800GTX than the msi version? 610, 2100 are the best factory overclocks i have found.

is the P182 worth the $50 more?
also i was considering the Antec 900 but it looks like it would not run as quiet as the P182.
how does the cooling and noise level compare between the 2 cases?

the 520W should be more than you need if you wanna save yourself from buying a new one in the future perhaps go with the 620W. Honestly you should be fine with the 520W though.

Get the 8800GTX, unless you get a great deal on the Ultra.

Never had a P182 so I can't help you there though I'd assume it should be fine. Google around to see what you can find.

Also Seagate 7200.11's are out. They have 1TB, 750GB and 500GB floating around if you can find it. The WD is still a great drive though.

Anyways, other than that looks like a great build.

ZZF has an XFX 8800 Ultra for $590 shipped free, plus there is a $30 MIR. XFX has a good warranty, too.

If you want to realy push the q6600 then go for the 600watt as if you significantly overclock/overvolt the q6600 its power usage can get over to 200watts (just for the cpu) and its a good idea to run your psu at <80% max (so for a 600 you would want a normal load of <480, so with 200cpu that gives you 280watts for gpu/drives/fans...)

If your friend wants to run for 3years then I would recommend going with an evga card as its likely that nvidia will have the g90 (or g92) out within 90 days and evga will let you use their stepup program (otherwise your friend is already starting with a 1 year old card).
