Due to my having made a little more $$ than I thought I've upgraded my plans for a new PC.

I will be gaming (some WoW), DVD ripping, etc. I plan on playing Crysis when it comes out too. I'm going to use an Antec 900 case (140).

My plans are to run another 8800 GTS in SLI in the coming months when the price of a second would be less.

What mobo would you recommend for bang for the buck? It would need to be able to overclock a Q6600 and run SLI at the same time.

For my needs, would an E6600 overclocked be just fine, or maybe an E6420?

I plan on buying 2G of DDR2 800 RAM since DDR2 1066 is so expensive right now.

I'm just getting a WD 250 Sata HD for now, and later I will get a 150 gig raptor.

EVGA 8800 GTS 320 MB.

I also plan on using a 22" Widescreen monitor in the coming weeks.

The PSU has also had me a little bit confused as I've read so many different things. for running the system above would any of these be just fine?

Powertek 770W http://www.newegg.com/product/...p?item=N82E16817713003

Rosewill 550W http://www.newegg.com/product/...p?item=N82E16817713003

I'd prefer the rosewill since it is about 40 dollars cheaper (when purchased with memory combo).

I appreciate any input guys.

Asus p5k is a pretty good board to overclock a q6600 with. Doesn't support sli though, but that doesn't matter. With EVGA you should make use of the stepup program as soon as you can afford a new 8800gts 320mb, and in 3 months you might be able to buy a 9x00 card, or a gtx/ultra for a lot less then they come for now.

As for the CPU, it really depends on your budget imo. If you overclock the q6600 to 3ghz, it will last you a very long time. And they way I've seen other people put it, is that you can overclock a q6600 to 3ghz, but you can't overclock a dual core to 3ghz and add 2 cores. For WoW it will be huge overkill, crysis will actually make use of all 4 cores though. But if crysis is the only thing you can think of that uses qaudcore, you're not gonna hurt yourself by getting a e6420 or so and OC it to 3.2ghz.

I don't know anything about the powertek, as for the rosewill, I think it's not a very reliable/good brand. You should be going with a 520hx from corsair. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...E16817139001&Tpk=520hx Very good PSU, very reliable.

Here's some input...
Spend a little $$ and buy a high quality PS. It will keep you from posting "Help Me" threads later on.

A E6420 overclocked would probably do the trick... personally i would recommend against getting a q6600 and overclocking... usually people expect too much with their poor quality air setups.

GTS SLI 320 is a complete waste of money, as you'll be limited by the little amount of VRAM each card has. A GTS 640 or GTX system outperforms a GTS 320 SLI system, and you can be sure that a next gen card for the same money will similarly outperform two 320s in SLI. So, instead of getting one GTS 320 now with plans for another later, why not just get a newer card later or a better card now?

Thanks for the input. I was doing some reading and found this PSU to be highly recommended and is not too expensive.

Would that be worth the extra $$ or would the OCZ be more than adequate?

Yeah, I was wondering about the memory of the cards. So what you're saying is that 320 SLI'd would not be as good as a gtx? I read this article and it said that two GTS's SLI'd outperformed a GTX. http://www.hothardware.com/art...ormance_Update/?page=2 But the article never specifies of those are 640 or 320 MB cards. Also, I'd like to note that price is an object for me right now. I'd like to build this system as cheap as possible and then upgrade it in the coming weeks. I just need something right now and don't have much more than 1200 bucks, and obviously, if I could spend a little less, I would.

So go with the suggested setup, 1 8800gts 320mb, from evga, use the step up program in 3 months and buy a 'high(er)' end card.

I have started losing a little faith in Newegg. I've build 3 computers with parts from there, but with this build, I've looked around more and found that their prices are a little higher than they should be. They have the Antec 900 for 139 with free 3 day shipping, but I've found it at another website for 100 shipped (although it is ground shipping).

The same goes for the Q6600. It can be bought cheaper at other vendors.
