New ram causing problems

Ok so I finally upgrade to get new ram at great prices and it don't want to work properly.

I originally had Kingston valueram cls 2.5 512 stick, I then bought 1 GB of Corsair valueselect ram, I put all three in together and am getting problems with blue screens (never had these before), random shutting down after 5 mins games closing out with "referenced memory" problems.
http://www.optionalx.com/pics/error.jpg

So I took out the kingston and left the Corsiar in, the random shut downs didn't happen anymore but every game on my system (3, HL2, Riddick, Americas Army all crash).

I have tried them in every config there is to try and still the same problems with every game and even some programs (psp).

So I took them out and put the kingston back in and it all works as before, no problems what so ever.

My MB is a Epox 8rda3+ which this ram is tested to work 100% with (and it don't).
Any ideas on what I should do to get this ram working, or am I stuck with only 512 MB of ram for this board?

The MB is supposed to be able to take 3gb of ram in it. I tried before to put in another 512 of PNy which wouldn't work in it either (could be the kingston not compatable), I don't know anymore, but I don't think so as the Corsair just don't want to work correctly even on it's own.

Help I'm stuck with 512

I would download memtest. Run it first with both sticks of corsair, then run each stick of corsair individualy. Have you tried using differant slots? Sometimes motherboards can be picky about what slots you use.

What processor are you using and what are the multiplier and FSB? Are you trying to run it out of spec?

I am running it in every slot I have in different configs.

The specs are standard, set in the bios as "by spd" which gives it the DDr 400 rating.

in case this is confusing from my answer, everything is running standard.

My CPU is a barton 2800.

Ok ran the memtest and both sticks give a multitude of errors.

I thought that these Corsair were supposed to be good lol.

Ah well let's see what Monarch computers RMA process do since I had them for 2 days.

You are running double sided memory correct? I dont think Nforce supports over 5 banks of memory.

Also you are running a dual channel motherboard with 3 modules which could be causing the problem (im not sure how nforce 2 handles 3 modules).

If neither of these are the issue, id bump up the memory voltage a notch and loosen the timings to the slowest possible manually to see if that helps.

Edit: It appears you are using 2 different sized modules in dual channel, at 1st when you said you bought 1GB i assumed you got 2x512MB modules, you need matching sizes of memory for dual channel to work properly.

Try the 1GB module by itself without the 512. It should work in single channel mode.

I have 1x512 kingston valueram (which was my original ram) and shows no errors on the memtest.

I bought 1gb of Corsair valueselect 2x512 mb sticks and these show the errors.
The total is only 3 banks, and I have tried each and every combination, the only thing that works stable is the kingston on it's own.

Even if I try to do the memtest on the memory one by one I get errors on the Corsair.

I got an e-mail from Monarch after I asked for a RMA they said this

"Its very rare that we see new ram kits where both sticks have defects -
Can you try either resetting your BIOS or restoring defaults and then
patching to the newest revision? And if you could provide me with the
make and model of your motherboard that should help me troubleshoot this
as well."

I don't know why I should have to reset my bios or flash it if the Kingston works flawlessly. Maybe you guys can explain that for me.

Also

jus loosen your memory timings a bit

Err i'm a noob, how should I go about that?

Its very simple. RMA it to Monarch. Just say it still doesn't work. Monarch won't struggle, just request the RMA from the form on the website. If both shows error in Memtest, then something is wrong with it! THere isnothing wrong with mobo or settings, I have the exact same & 1gb CS VS clocked @ 230 mhz.

OK , I have tried the option from Monarch (reset the cmos, flashed to a new bios).

The games are ok now and they work without memory error crashes.

I still am getting errors when i run memtest on both modules, even though one has lots and the other has only a few.

My questions are

Should i just ignore these errors as being nothing to worry about?

Should I still return both and get replacements?

Does memtest give errors that are not really worth me worrying over?
