New rig Problems

Got a new rig just this week

Asus A8n-e mobo
amd 64 bit procy 3200 +
giga 6600gt vid card (single)
psu is a 450 w

i have 1 512 stick of 400 ram kingston

ive returend all the parts at least once. and under all configurations i get the same problem

i plug everything in ok. and i get a loud beep when i turn on the cpu no display and all the fans and hdd and cd work but i get no display and a continual BEEp pause pause BEEP ...

now im thinking it must be the power supply (i have a MGE ninja case the psu came with it) other then that i dont know what could be the problem wince all the other parts have been changed. (i had 333 ram originally so i bought a new stick of 400 but that didnt change anything)

thanks in advance for the help cause im just about ready to return everything for a refund.

Does your motherboard manual say what the Beep pause Beep means? It can mean different things for different motherboards (hello standards!).

It could very well be a power supply issue. Can you check what kind of specs the power supply has?

When you say you've swapped all the parts, does that include the processor / motherboard?

It might not be a bad idea to get a full refund, and order stuff from somewhere else...

ya i brought all the parts back to the store for new ones thinking it might be a problem with the part.

ill go check for the psu specs

turns out its only a 400w... the model number is LC-B400ATX

im not sure what specs you want so i cant really post them...

400W should be plenty. Check how many Amps (A) it has on the +12V rail. There should be a sticker on your PSU with that information.

You want at least about 15 Amps or so, depending on how many devices you have in your system.

its actually a 450 i was reading the sticker worng... i guess there is something else the matter... so i wil just return all for money and buy a system or have one made in full

I can't blame ya there. After all the trouble my new rig has given me, I think next time I'll just shell out for a Falcon Northwest.

(then again, at the time I do finally upgrade, I will feel differently, ofcourse.

Still, returning it, and buying different parts is probably smart.
