I think we are used to the jerky motion, less uniform suit design from the 80s, but I think this could be a more futuristic (from our perspective, not the 80s looking forward) and less clunky Robocop. I love the original movie, but I think this new one will be good and I think Joel Kinnaman could pull off Robocop well.

We already have real robotics that move even better than the old Robocop and other OmniCorp robots. You would think a new Robocop would have smaller and more fluid mechanics, closer to human-like. An old school RoboCop suit would seem kind of weird and out of place at this time.

The older one looked more like a robot joined onto a human. This new one looks like a guy in a suit.

Hollywood can't not fuck with classics; It's practically their entire business model now. Over 90% of their productions are remakes/reboots/re-imaginings.
