New Router with FIOS

Last question, to change the fios router I read disconnect it before bed, leave it disconnected the. In the morning plug the new one in with nothing attached to it and it requests a new up address.
Sounds too easy, feels like Verizon would need some kind of serial number or esn number.
Do the above process sound correct to you?

Sounds good to me. I perform a similar process when replacing the router with Comcast, but haven't had the fun setting up FiOS stuff.

Update:

Finally got around to doing this, picked up a google wifi and a tp-link 8 port gigabit switch.

@VirtualLarry was correct in the fios router settings its broadband-then something else- then release, it took a couple of minutes to refresh which is good to know for next time. No need to run to the damn router.
Google wifi set up was stupid easy.

My wired connection is comparable to the fios router oddly it seems to be a tiny bit slower but I consistently get 100mbs and that is what I pay for (fios quantum gateway would get around 108 I wonder if it has some kind of temporary speed boost thing in it?)
Roku now has an Excellent connection instead of a "good" connection and the speed on the roku went from about 40mbs to about 55mbs.

Edit: appears I get waaaay more range. Quantum gateway barely made it out of the house. Google WiFi kept me connected in the car at least 100 feet away from the house, maybe more

Final update:

Google WiFi seems to work exactly as I need it to atm.

Google has some cool analytics built in too. I found I can test the network connection for anything on the network.
Roku #1 has a 158 mb connection
Roku #2 has a 250+ mb connection
My nest has a 22 mb connection which sounds weirdly fast for a thermostat
I know these aren’t internet speeds but still an interesting tool.

I get better coverage outside but that’s not a game changer. Instead of no useful outside coverage, I get a useable connection about 20 feet from the house.

Common area in backyard where I work it’s not that far from the house but two rooms away from the google WiFi plus it’s outside.
